Bronze Panchamukha Ganesh Statue

. "This afternoon, at around 3:30 PM, a large package was delivered at my apartment. VERY securely packed, inside layers of bubble-wrap, a styrofoam carton, and all sorts of styrofoam sheets, was a beautiful dark bronze statue of the five-faced, lion-riding form of Ganesha.

I have been seated in front of my window fan for hours, drenched in sweat, drinking iced tea, and examining the <murthi> under a magnifying glass. Every time I take a break to mop my brow or sip more tea, I am drawn back to the statue and my face breaks into an ear-to-ear grin as I note another charming feature.

I'm already planning on doing a simple puja with the new statue on this coming Sunday, which (I believe) is a Chaturthi day (fourth night after the New Moon, sacred to Ganesha).
