The Rebel

Why does this site exist in such a blatantly lackluster state? The sad answer is that I am such a nihilist that perpetration of petty nonconformity is the only life-thrill I have left.

The progression of this nonbelief is the cause of my meaningless recalcitrance. I say nonbelief because instead of "learning something new everyday," I feel that the loss of ideas is more accurate of my state as well as that of others; this does not mean that I have stopped learning, just stopped believing in everything I learn presently and have learned in the past.

The following is a discription of the stages of unbelief and the consequent nonconformity, because, as you know, belief should always dictate action, or lack of action.

The path of belief is like that of slide, an arduous journey to the top followed by a split-second descent. During our maturation we are constantly taught everything as if there were no alternative. After all, one cannot criticize rationally what one does not understand, especially if what one knows is taught by their closest caregivers.

After small acts of rebellion, such as arguments over chores and privelege and similars, an enormous act of noncompliance suddenly occurs. Suddenly, like the descendence down a slide, while causing a cascade of other such acts.

As you may have guessed, this first act was the denial of god and religion. Like an injured deer, the target was too easy. You never really had believed ever since the time when you had also believed in santa and the easter bunny. Now however, you were fervently atheistic, convinced of your own superiority and all other's cozy, sheep-like existence. But, you take it too far, quarreling with every bible thumper you can find with all of your new found knowledge. You're what Nietzsche calls a "pious atheist." You have turned your lack of belief into a belief system of its own. Did you really believe that atheism was the absolute truth? That converting everyone would bring about a new enlightenment? About this time you realize it is more practical to settle into the pragmatics, and leaving the religious to wallow in own their blissful ignorance.

The loss of belief, religion and then flagrant atheism, gives one a much-to-close encounter with the nihilist void. A new belief is needed to quickly rehabilitate your sickening lack of hope. The answer is heard in the coincidentally heaven-like spoutings of utopianists. Being an atheist, you are already on the left, it was only logical to take one more step and become a radical. However, the same course of events comes back again, eternal recurrence. You begin to search for anglo, racist, wealthy republicans in order to demolish their beliefs with the same intensity you had once saved for Christians. You believe that you are right and everyone else is hopelessly wrong, if they would only open their eyes they'd see. You believe in your own beliefs just as faithfully as you had as a pious atheist and as a Christian.

Eventually, as horrible as it may sound, you start to listen to those greedy repulicans. You start to see something in their beliefs in individual responsibility. After all, you couldn't keep up this charade much longer; pretending to care for the oppressed of the world while denying your own misanthropy.

Soon, you serendipitously stumbled upon the key to your future, nihilism. As Max Stirner said, "Nothing is more to me than myself." You no longer give religion or anti-religion or utopiaism undue authority, the result was completely predictable.

So here you are with no beliefs, and stuck with the stubborn task of proving this to everyone through your nonconformity.

You ascend to the acceptance of the nothingness of nihilism starting with the rejection of religion, followed by the rejection of pious atheism and finally with the destruction of your utopianist ideals. You no longer look for belief, settling with your nihilist nonbelief. Anything and everything that society accepts must be reevaluated in order to determine if any personal importance remains. What are the lifestyle changes to ermerge?

First, you realize the imortance of never again falling into the beartrap of dogmatism. There is nothing worse than rebellion for the sake of rebellion. You don't try to be different, you just are.

So, you don't believe in societal convention, you don't believe in anything, so you don't even believe in your nonbelief of societal convention. For example, you're an atheist so you never attend church, pray, or say, "god bless you." However, you still engage in these activities every now and then, if only for the mockery. Taking "flattery by imitation" and sarcastically flipping it on its head. Sometimes you go even further, and upon hearing of someone's newly attained sickness, you ask,"what did you do to attain ill-favor with the gods?" Thus you affirm your freedom from ideological constraint, and momentarily save yourself from boredom.

Non-religious convention must be mocked as well. You don't believe that wearing nice clothes will increase the importance of any occasion. Everyday is casual day. But maybe, one day you'll dress up with a nice tie to the local movie theatre, sweet mockery. You don't believe in the ridiculous culturally determined body image, spending precious time lifting metallic disks, coloring our faces, being politically correct, making small chat, watching the gladiatorial games and other peoples lives, or follow the rules of etiquette. Yet, you often have fun mocking others weakness by pressing these mannerisms on them.

Thus, my site will remain in its present lackluster state, neither my life nor my website are immersed in such trivialities.
