Prelude(Lost Dreams)
Why silent for so long my friend?
What trap of entanglements has your tongue tied today?
Do they hope to be rid of me as easily as that?
A word of caution...I hate losing, don't you?
I've cast my lots and rolled the bones time and again,
Yet again the dice tumble in the winds of fate,
In a slow, delicate process...you cannot weight the dice.
It simply isn't done, and it is not simply done.
Do you dare to dream the impossible?
Or do other hands pull your strings?
Who is the master of the true you now,
Of your feelings, actions, and thoughts?
Undeniably He has given us freewill,
Yet you allow them to play the piper's notes
What sad soul lies beneath that grim facade?
The piper is a slave to his own beat,
Blocking out all common sense and natural tempo,
His syncopated cadence drones sour in my ears,
Sweet as it may sound to the untrained hammer and anvil
It is dreadful cacophony to one who only plays to himself
Catchy tunes in a private concert, 'midst the most crowded rooms
What does your heart tell you now?
Does it beat to the strange, ill-fated voicing,
Or does it seek a new path? Which one sounds more loudly in your soul?
I don't believe in simple reasoning through the teeth,
It's a bold-faced mask in the semblance of a snake
Reach out and take my hand through space
And look into the "Eyes of Your Beholder. . ."
Untitled
Just give me time
To forget about life
To slip in to restless slumber
And fashion the dreams
Of a troubled mind
Only to wake
In a less-perfect world
Beating down the closed doors
Being me has never felt so free
And yet so confining
Disintegrate the barriers
From the bottom up
Concrete evidence is
A diamond on the moon
And truth a fool's game
I'm not as sick
As you want me to be
I'm not as unraveled
As I'd like to be...
Open my eyes
Tears make my vision bleary
Open my mind
And let me think more clearly
Open my heart
These feelings burn within me
Let me see the world
Through the eyes of one who knows
The things I feel inside
Take my hand
I need someone to lead me
Try to understand
Oh Heaven, please forgive me
And the Light shines through
And burns within
And hope rains down
And sorrows wash away
Wither and evaporate...
Your inability to believe the truth
Dooms you to live a life of discontent
But what is it to believe
As you believe, and live in misery?
But I am not to sway you otherwise
You know I have never done such
Have I?
The Heavens wept openly
For the two stars, who joined together
Would be a duo destined for greatness
Before their time, collided;
And there was malice felt at every angle,
A supernova of their souls.
The still, serene statues stand as a reminder
Of how life used to be
Clouds that call in the distance
Shadows deep in the pine
Wolves howl at the passing of the day
Golden eyes deep with intention
Reflecting the light of their burning souls
Wildfires sparked by countless lightning strikes...
The thunder of battle sweeps across
the grassy, barren plain
The wounded and sick lay tortured,
all amoung the slain
But above it all, two men stand,
and with their fighting,
Destroy the land.
Which one is more powerful?
Which one survives?
Who will conquer?
Which one thrives?
At last the Dragon stands alone
amoung the blood
amoung the bone
The land will recover
But is at it's final stage
The carnage hearlding the coming
Of a new, Shadowless age.
I was afraid to love
You helped me see
I was afraid to come close
You helped me touch
I was afraid of being hurt
You eased my pain
I was afraid of driving you away
You showed me our bond
Would you enter the Shadow's lair with me?
Would you run from danger if I told you to flee?
Would you fly to my side no matter what they say?
Would you live in my palace if I showed you the way?
