Childress , died in this place on the night of the 29th of June in her 57th year. The deceased has been in bad health for a number of years, and her death was not unexpected. She leaves a number of relatives and friends to mourn her demise. She was buried in Bethel Cemetery, Kingston, Roane, Tennessee. She was married to Samuel Lewis Childress on 7 Jan 1833 in Kingston, Roane, Tennessee. Samuel Lewis Childress was born on 13 Oct 1807 in , , Virginia. Spring Hill, and "Middle Tennessee" (Johnsonville? -- rmp). Discharged at
Gainsville, AL in 1865. Received a pension.
The Index to Tennessee Confederate Pension Applications shows that Tennessee
pension application #11495 was filed by A.B. Childress of Gibson County for
service with the 19th & 20th Cavalry.
