Teriyaki Pikachu

Prep: 15 mins, plus time to catch the Pikachu (this depends on how good you are; for instance, if you're really bad *cough* Team Rocket!! *cough cough*, it might take MONTHS) and light the grill
Cooking: 30 to 35 mins
Other: 2 to 24 hrs for marinating
Total: about 2 3/4 hrs, plus time to catch the Pikachu and light the grill

Ingredients
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup dry sherry
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp peeled and grated fresh ginger
1 frying pikachu, about 3 1/2 lb, cut into serving pieces

This cannot be stressed enough: when handling pikachu meat, take special care not to be electrecuted by any residual electricity that the meat may have. In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, sherry, oil, sugar, garlic and ginger. Place the pikachu pieces in a large storage bag and pur the soy sauce mixture. Press out the air and seal the bag tightly. Set the bag in a large bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or all day if you wish, turning and massaging the bag occasionally. Prepare a fire in a charcoal grill. Position the oiled grill rack 4-6 inches above the fire. Remove the pikachu pieces from the marinade and pat them dry with paper towels. Pour the marinade into a saucepan and bring to a boil, boil for two minutes, then reserve. Arrange the pikachu pieces on the rack, skin side down. Grill 30-35 minutes. During the last 10 minutes, brush the pikachu two or three times with the reserved marinade.

Serves 4.
