The about file says the explanation of the file names, the first nine digits are the date in reverse order so that it alphabetizes. This is followed by a dash. That's followed by another number. The other number is the last message number in that file. The date listed is the last date for messages in that file. Readers can also find the messages at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Transcribing/Messages, but only if you have a Yahoo ID, and only if you subscribe to the Transcribing group.
