Some days I feel the angels soar
Sometimes I feel them nearby.
Some days I know they're watching
When I'm sad or when I cry.

Some times I feel them embrace me
with a warmth of gentle wings.
Sometimes I can almost see them
and sometimes I hear them sing.

Some days I think they're smiling
on the days I feel carefree.
Somehow I know when in danger
They're watching over me.

Some days I hear a flutter
and sounds I can't explain.
Although I cannot see them
The presence still remains.

It's said ten thousand angels
adorn the heavens above.
I can only imagine that beauty
where angels live with love.

For now I'll remain content
to know they're watching me.
Some days I soar with the angels
as I feel them holding me.

~A True Story~

This poem has great meaning to me at this point of my life.
I've always believed there are Angels watching over me.

Moreso-now than ever.

See,  I was a victim of a robbery committed in December.
I was robbed at my workplace at gunpoint.

The robber came into the workplace-waving a handgun
demanding I give him whatever cash we kept.

I was alone; nobody was in the building but myself.
He then came over the counter where I sat putting
the handgun to my head-threatening to shoot me.

Silenty under my breath-I asked for Gods' protection.

More than once the robber nervously threatened to
kill me and I could see the pistol pointed less than
an inch from my head.  I opened the cashbox and
he proceeded to grab money quickly and then fled
out the door.  He was gone as fast as he entered.
It didn't seem 'real' - but I knew it was.

I was alone, unharmed and alive.

Numb I got up-called my boss and the police.
My boss came quickly - shaken and concerned.
The police arrived promptly behind him.
I'd never seen so many policemen and
detectives in my entire life in one place.

Police reports were taken afterwards.
I was questioned and drilled about the gunman.
Unfortunately he was 'disguised' from head to toe.

I recall one detective calling me a  very 'lucky lady'.

I was told I could (rightfully) leave the workplace if I
needed to do so under the circumstances of being a
"Victim of Crime"; having been threatened at gunpoint.

 Did I leave?  NO!

I felt a presence around me-an unexplained 'peace'.
I stayed and helped clean up the 'fingerprint' dust
that had been used to collect evidence of the crime.
I sat in shock for a few moments realizing I had came
close to death; but realized something else too.

I had been protected by my Guardian Angel.
Maybe more than just one-nevertheless shielded
by unseen wings protecting my very life.
It wasn't the first time I had felt their presence.
It wasn't the first time I'd thanked God for protection.

I know it won't be the last.

My encounter with facing 'death' has most certainly
given me a greater love and appreciation for LIFE!
I am more than thankful to be alive to see 2001!!
I've heard it said "Whatever doesn't kill you-makes
you stronger ".   I believe that now with all my being.

My Boss and Co-workers all ask me "HOW can you
come to work now so calmly after what happened????
I know a secret that I have not (YET) shared with them.
A few people that 'know me well'-'know' how I feel.

I continue to work at my job-knowing I am protected
by an unseen force shielding my life with unseen wings.
I feel their presence around me now stronger than ever.

Do I believe in Angels??

Most undoubtedly!!

*S*

My Grandmother taught something to me a long time ago
before her death; and I know it to be a fact now.

"And he shall give his angels charge over thee;

to keep thee in all thy ways".

Grandmother was a very wise Woman.

I want to thank people who have encouraged me to share the
above story-although it was not easy to do; now I'm glad I did.

I've been writing poems about angels for weeks - now I know why.
The above poem was written about 2 weeks prior to my incident.

Take care!

Someone sent me this in email and I thought
it fit 'perfect' right here on this same page.
Thank YOU Joann!

I asked for strength and God gave me difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve.

I asked for prosperity and God gave me brawn and brain to work.

I asked for courage and God gave me dangers to overcome.

I asked for patience and God placed me in situations
where I was forced to wait.

I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help.

I asked for favors and God gave me opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted.

I received everything I needed.

MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED.
