Never underestimate me
Never doubt that I can accomplish what I say I will do
Never think I am not smart, intelligent or witty
I am all of these things
I am a WOMAN.

Do not think I have nothing to contribute to this world

Never try to tell me this is a "man's world"

Because I am divorced, or widowed and alone

For with age I have learned I'm as sexy as anyone
A womans' grace and self-confidence gives sex appeal
I have learned what sexy is and what it is not

~A  PERSONAL MESSAGE FOR WOMEN~


   The more women over the age of 40+ I speak with, the more I 
   have witnessed that they feel it is time for someone to say WE
   COUNT!!  Being a divorced female myself-and retirement still a
   good way off; I know there are more and more women now fight-
   ing to keep a job and home-women that struggle alone; without
   families or children to understand what this is like.  I have re-
   ceived many emails-some due to the "REFLECTIONS OF WISDOM" 
   series I have started-women from all walks of life that are in a
   battle with depression, loneliness or maybe just needed a boost to
   make it through their day.  I talk with single women who have been
   in a marriage or a relationship; that are now feeling alone-without
   hope.  Some have encountered going out into the workforce for
   the first time.  What a shock that is for women over the age of
   40+ & UP!!  Many women haven't worked in years-and are just try-
   ing to once again re-enter todays' workplace.  Dealing with having
   to "start over" again is never easy for anyone; but some women
   who are left alone are suddenly faced with feelings of inadequacy
   to take care of themselves.  I have been there.  I know how this
   feels from my own personal life; so I can relate to this.  Learning
   who you are alone means CHANGE--and I  do know this truth..

CHANGE IS SCAREY!! 


But the good things worth fighting for in this life means taking RISKS!!!

   There are things I want to share here.  I want to say that if you 
   are facing issues of stress, depression, loneliness-and you cannot 
   cope with them; or have let them overwhelm your world or life--
  seek counseling and do NOT be ashamed or afraid!!  Do not worry
   about what the neighbors, family members or ANYONE will think!!
   Do NOT be afraid to start a new life-and a NEW beginning!!  Do
   not let your fears take control of your life!  YOU take control of
   your life!!  If you are not SKILLED in a job-seek job counseling
   about going back to school!  Women now over the age of 40+ are
   rapidly learning it is NOT too late to get educated on JOB SKILLS!!
   It is never too late to learn something NEW!!  In my personal life
   I have encountered people with "that" attitude ("Hmm..school?-
   at YOUR AGE!") *S*  Know what what I ask them?-"At what age do
   people stop learning in life??" LOL :)  Most of them shut up-and 
   the ones who don't??-DON'T LISTEN!!!  One thing I see is I'm
   quickly learning in my 40+ years in this life it is that nobody can
   make MY world a better place to live in EXCEPT ME!  Being single
   isn't easy-BUT it doesn't have to make you UNHAPPY in life!  The
   percentage of single/divorced/widowed women age 40+ is growing
   daily.  Women are now faced with a new life; learning how to cope
   on their own-maybe for the first time.  I speak a lot from the 
   heart in these situations; for I have "been there".  Broken hearts
   do not have to mean broken LIVES!!!  Grieving over our losses is
   natural; but prolonged depression can be debilitating to the mental
   as well as physical health. (This holds true for men OR women!)
   I have learned a valuable lesson at the ripe "old" age of being
   40 "something" (*Smile*) and that is this...
 
 

LET GO OF WHAT HAPPENED TODAY OR YESTERDAY-
.
LOOK FORWARD TO TOMORROW!!

Life is a Miracle
  don't let it slip away,
  Open your heart to others
  give of yourself each day.
  See the Beauty in everyone
  regardless of where they've been,
  Some have a difficult journey
  and really need a friend.
  Share your talents
  Listen with your heart.
  Do the things you dream about
  but don't have time to start.
  Pick a bouquet of flowers
  show someone that you care,
  Be gracious and forgiving
  Life is never fair.
  Hold on to your courage
  you may need it down the road,
  We all have a cross to bear
  it could be a heavy load.
  If your practice all these things
  no matter where you roam,
  You may find both sun and rain
  but you'll never feel alone.
