Mr. Neighbors, MS ATC
PAST - Rochelle H.S. Head Athletic Trainer Mr. Neighbors has served RTHS since 2004 as the head athletic trainer. Mr. Neighbors attended High School at Plainfield High School where he played football and was a member of the track team. After High School he attended Western Illinois University where he received two degrees from the Physical Education Department, one a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training in 2002 and a Master degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology in 2004. While earning his Masters Degree, he served a 2-year position as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for WIU.. |
Ms. Betsy Palagi
PAST- NIU Athletic Training Student Ms. Palagi is a second year athletic training education program student in the NIU college of kinesiology. Prior to college she attended Victor J. Andrews High School were she was a member of the girls Tennis Team. Ms. Palagi is working towards her undergraduate degree in kinesiology with and emphasis in Athletic training with just one year to go at NIU. She is excited for the opportunity to continue working with RTHS athletes through the spring. |
Mr. Patrick Reichel, EMT-B LGI
PAST - NIU Athletic Training Student Mr. Reichel is a second year athletic training education program student in the NIU college of kinesiology. Prior to college he attended A. E. Stevenson High School where he was an athletic training student for 4 years and he was the schools outstanding athletic training student of the year for 2000-01 & 2002-03. Mr. Reichel is working towards his undergraduate degree in kinesiology with and emphasis in Athletic training with just one year to go at NIU. He plans on working towards a masters degree in higher education and public policy immediately followed by a PhD in political science. Mr. Reichel hopes to work on his masters degree at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor while working for the university as a certified athletic trainer. He is excited for the opportunity to continue working with RTHS athletes through the spring. |

Luke “Danger” Aguirre
PAST - NIU - Athletic Training Student Luke has been with the Hubs Athletic Training Department since the fall of 2006, he is in his second year of training with previous College at Rock Valley and now at NIU. Prior to college Mr. Aguirre attended high school at Rockford East High school, where he participated in Football and Wrestling. In his senior year his football team made it to the semi-finals of the state playoffs, his team was also second in conference. While he attends NIU he will soon finish with a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Athletic Training. Employment prior to college included work as a tiger trainer with Siegfried & Roy, other interests include a black belt in Jeet Kon Do and he also has aspirations of becoming a Rock/Movie Star in the Universe |
Callie Nelson
PAST - NIU - Athletic Training Student Callie has been with the Hubs Athletic Training Department since the fall of 2006, were she has enjoyed helping athlete’s on the football, soccer, cross country & tennis teams. She has prior experience with NIU and various high school programs. Before college Ms. Nelson attended Cary Grove high school where she played softball, basketball & volleyball. Callie is working towards her Bachelors degree in Athletic Training, also at NIU she informs us she played on the Rugby team her freshman year. Other employment includes working at Opportunity House, a group home for adults with disabilities where she has been employed for a year and a half. Callie also comes from a family of six girls and no boy and she recently competed in the Chicago Marathon with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up Callie responded, “I’m not quite sure where I will end up, but hopefully overseas doing medical/health care for the Peace Corps” |
Kirstin Wasik
PAST - NIU - Athletic Training Student Kirstin has been with the Hubs Athletic Training Department since the Fall of 2006, helping with the sports program at RTHS. She has been an NIU student in the Athletic Training Program for almost two years now. Prior to college Ms. Wasik attended Leyden high school in Franklin Park where she was a scholar athlete and a member of the Swimming and Badminton. Before coming to NIU she attended Triton Community college and earned an Associates Degree in Science. When not at school Kirstin works for the Osco Corporation back in Franklin Park. She has a younger sister named Kim and a puppy named Riley who both keeps her very busy. She has goals of obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training and then returning to school to get her Masters Degree for an Athletic Director and she would also like the opportunity to return to high school athletics as an Badminton Coacha Badminton coach. |
Sean Pinaire
PAST - NIU - Athletic Training Student Sean has been with the Hubs Athletic Training Department since the Fall of 2006 and enjoys working and helping the athlete’s at RTHS. Mr. Pinaire is a senior Athletic Training Student at NIU, he is in the second year of the program and has hop of graduating in the spring of 2008. Prior to college Sean attended high school at Metamora high school home the Redbirds, while there he participated on the soccer and wrestling teams where he earned varsity letters for three years, he was a member of the 2003 Regional & Conference Championship Wrestling squad as well as a member of the 2003 Regional & Conference Championship Soccer team. Sean has a career goal of becoming an Athletic Trainer at the professional sports level for Baseball, Football or Basketball. |
