In Loving Memory2
Memories of Mum and myself...
Poem for Mum
Copyright Lisa Scott 2005
Mum, every day I miss you,
The pain of your absence is far to real
Everyone tells me it's ok
And this is how I'm supposed to feel.

I now you are happy up there
Nestled in the arms of your Mother again
Seeing all those gone before you
Getting reaquainted with some old friends.

I miss your touch, I miss your love,
I even miss the smell of you,
I miss your compassion and wisdom
And those gentle eyes of blue.

I know you will watch over us all,
Just like you used to do,
You will be there with the warmth of comfort
You'll continue to help us too.

So now I walk in memories
Remembering those special things
The years of love you gave me
And the joys only a Mother can bring.

My only comfort is in memories past
And in knowing that one day we shall again be face to face
Where I shall rest for eternity
Safe in my beloved Mother's embrace...
Late at night I sit and look to the sky
Watching the sparkling stars and wondering why
The stars twinkle ever so beautiful and bright
The biggest and brightest one, I won't let out of my sight.

Is that you? Are you there? Are you really lighting my way?
The star blinks, 'Yes, and for always!' it appears to say
You may be gone from this Earth, but you did not die,
For I now
KNOW, you are the most glorious star in the sky.
