Islamic Monitor on the Terrorist Attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon
Islamic Monitor extends its sympathy to the families and friends of the victims of the 911 terrorist attacks and seeks punishment of the perpetrators of this atrocity.
American political leaders are making this mistake of looking outside of the U.S. for those who perpetuated these acts of terrorism upon the World Trade Center and Pentagon. The investigation is beginning to show that there was a high level of coordination within the U.S.  We will have to look very carefully into the backgrounds and affiliations of those people who work in airport security and ramp services. It's not fashionable or politically correct to engage in "guilt by association," but many people working security at U.S. airports are Muslims.  We have to be open to the possibility that there might be people among them who have sympathy for the causes of terrorists and might facilitate their actions.   Argenbright Security, which provides security services at Dulles Airport (Washington, DC), Newark (New Jersey) Airport, and Logan Airport (Boston, Massachusetts), from where the four planes departed, has been cited for security lapses, including failures to carry out adequate background investigations on employees.
President Bush with Muslim leaders at Islamic Center in Washington, DC. Second from right is Nihad Awad, Executive Director of the Hamas front CAIR; the woman is also with CAIR. From the Web Site of the White HouseIslamic Monitor has long objected to the censorship campaigns and witch hunts against anyone who dares to criticize Islam carried out by Islamic groups such as the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).   Before the terrorist attacks, Islamic Monitor was dismissive about calling MPAC and CAIR terrorist fronts.  Now Islamic Monitor believes that these organizations should be put under Federal investigation as terrorist fronts.  The article Federal Bullies Bully Islamic Bullies, published prior to September 11, 2001, intimates connections among the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, CAIR, the Saudi Bin Ladin Group (from where Osama derives his millions), and InfoCom, a Texas-based Islamic ISP raided by the FBI.  CAIR and MPAC are paying lip service to the crisis by asking Moslem medical personnel to volunteer to help the victims and encouraging Muslims to donate blood.
Islamic Monitor does not support violence against Muslims or their institutions.   It believes that protection should be extended to Muslims and their institutions.

However, there has to be a concomitant effort by Muslims to purge their institutions of terrorists and their sympathizers; otherwise, we are enabling the terrorists and their sympathizers.   Moreover, if Muslims truly want to demonstrate that they are good Americans, they should:

  • Renounce their primary allegiance to the ummah (worldwide Moslem community).  It used to be that renouncing prior allegiances was a prerequisite for becoming American; now it no longer seems to be the case.   Muslims in the U.S. should demonstrate their patriotism by making their principal allegiance the United States and its citizens, regardless of faith (or lack of faith).
  • Renounce hateful passages in the Qur'an and Hadith (traditions of the prophets) advocating punishment of non-believers - please check the links below.
  • Purge their institutions and web sites of pervasive anti-western rhetoric.    The anti-western rhetoric is not merely expressed as opposition toward U.S. policy toward Israel, as Moslem apologists claim.    It is also expressed as hatred of American values of freedom of speech and expression, approval of violating U.S. laws if they conflict with sharia (Islamic law), and regarding our women as sluts and whores.  The anti-western rhetoric creates an environment that enables support for terrorist activities.
  • Volunteer their linguistic skills in Arabic and Dari Farsi (the language used in Afghanistan) to assist in the investigation.
These Web pages will assist in readers' understanding:
  • Protecting Muslims While Rooting out Islamicists - good recommendations, but differentiating between Islam and Islamicism is semantic hairsplitting.
  • One Nation, Under Islam - an article that describes the centrality of the ummah to Islam
  • An Uneasy Tolerance - An American Muslim’s view of how forces of anti-western hatred find a home in mosques and Islamic centers
  • How to be Muslim and American - "American Muslim leaders and communities have largely condemned violence and terrorism. However, they may now need to take much more proactive measures to ensure that Islam — as a faith in the United States — is not used as a veneer for organizing and abetting terrorism."
  • Islam's Flawed Spokesman - from Salon.com. "Some of the groups claiming to speak for American Muslims find it impossible to speak out against terrorist groups."  Focuses particularly on CAIR.
  • Statement on WTC Atrocity - contains citations to the Qur'an that demonstrates that Islam sanctions punishment of non-believers and refutes the myth that Islam is not to blame for terrorist attacks ... "There are moderate Muslims, but Islam itself is not moderate. Islam itself is a fascist ideology."
