HYBRID THEORY
"Hybrid Theroy" (che è anche il
nome originale della band) è l'album di debutto dei Linkin Park, pubblicato su
etichetta WEA Records, che ha subito riscosso uno straordinario successo,
conquistando subito le classifiche di tutto il mondo, piazzandosi ai primi
posti. "Hybrid Theory" è costruito su una base rock aggressiva, impreziosito da
vocalizzi hip-hop e da suoni elettronici: il suono dei Linkin Park è totalmente
loro, un traguardo amplificato dalla rimarchevole spontaneità nello scrivere i
testi. "Vogliamo che la nostra musica – spiega il chitarrista Brad Delson;
fluisca in maniera precisa così che le persone che ascoltano il nostro album
possano riconoscerci e dire "Ah, sono i Linkin Park" e non "Ho sentito questo
hip hop" e poi finisce che si perde tra altri cori rock". "Vogliamo che tutto
sia dinamico – continua; e allo stesso tempo abbia un sapore coesivo, così che
l'ascoltatore sa quale band sta ascoltando." Non immuni da influenze eterogenee,
dai Deftones ai Nine Inch Nails, a Aphex Twin And The Roots, i Linkin Park con "Hybrid
Theory" hanno dato prova che una fresca combinazione di talento, una ferma
dedizione all'arte e alla pura visione artistica può dar vita ad una
dichiarazione musicale praticamente perfetta.
REANIMATION
È disponibile dal 26 luglio 2002 "Reanimation", l'album di remix dei Linkin Park
al quale hanno collaborato gli artisti più importanti della scena nu metal ed
hip hop americana, reinterpretando le tracce contenute nell' album "Hybrid
Theory", che l'anno scorso a proiettato la band californiana ai vertici delle
classifiche mondiali. Contemporaneamente all'uscita dell'album "Reanimation",
WEA Records ha pubblicato il cd singolo "Points of authority
METEORA
“Il secondo album
è sempre il più difficile nella carriera dell’artista” canta Caparezza in questo
periodo e togliendo tutte le varie riedizioni (come Reanimation), e, in effetti,
questo è il secondo album di canzoni nuovi della band del “parco di Lincoln”.
Con questo album Chester, Mike e Co. mostrano dove vogliono arrivare tenendo
come punto di partenza il loro primo album “Hybrid Theory”. Il loro primo album
era innovativo, un crossover innovativo al limite del rock e dava le speranze
per un secondo album analogo. Ma le speranze per il secondo album (Meteora) si
sono un po’ a mio avviso infrante con la sua pubblicazione portando un suono,
specialmente in alcuni brani, un pop con accenno crossover. Come ad esempio
nella canzone Breaking the Habit. Mentre poi in alcuni brani arriviamo a
belle sonorità rock e crossover (come ad esempio Lying to you, che è
molto simile alle canzoni del primo album come One step closer). Un
complimento comunque va fatto per le sonorità rese dai sample di Joe, dj del
gruppo, oltre che ideatore dei videoclip e curatore della veste grafica della
band. Un’altra nota particolare va fatta a Chester perché riesce a gridare
dentro al microfono senza segarsi le corde vocali ogni volta.
L’album complessivamente non è male, se non che la direzione presa dai LP non è
proprio quella del crossover puro ma quello con venature qua e là più evidenti
di pop.
