About Us, The It's a Knockout Web Credits
You would look like this too if you had been up all night coding in raw HTML

Andrew "Tintin" Gray

Creator of The It's a Knockout Web

Age: 23
Location: Melbourne (Can you tell?)
Occupation: Postgraduate Student
Hobbies: Making this website, playing and listening to music, comedy, Slurpees®, studying for 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'
Favourite IAK team: Portland (subject to change)
Favourite IAK event: Telephone Call
IAK event I most wanted to set up at home (everyone has one): Lifebuoys, on our steep driveway (thwarted by risk of cracking open head on rockery (i.e. too realistic))
Best IAK Team: Nareen
Worst IAK Team: Frankston
Other quality stuff: Ulysses 31, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Astroboy (I liked it even before it got its kitsch-retro-animé bandwagon following), Oh Dr. Beeching!, Yes Minister, The Gillies Report, National Lampoons movies with Chevy Chase (probably alienating too many people now), Only Fools and Horses, Grange Hill, Comedy Company, The Late Show (esp. Bargearse & The Olden Days), Letterman (I'm guilty), Bluey, Minder, Pacific Drive (a cartoon with real people -- also unfortunately axed), the Adrian Mole film, Tintin, Fast Forward, Transformers, Masters of the Universe, Dawson's Creek (sometimes), Cat Stevens in the 70's, Australian music, Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, NASA (even though they stuff up half the time), G-Force Battle of the Planets, Amiga Computers + more...

No I am not a TV nut

Dodgy stuff: Hornsby Council (wanted to get rid of IAK to the detriment of Australian Culture), idiot minority of residents of Hornsby (ditto), Channel 10 (refuse to screen IAK), Stirling, Padthaway, Daisy Hill and Frankston (some fans will be ropable at these comments -- backchat's gonna hear about this!). Preston is also fairly dodgy, but only partly because of their IAK team. All the effort I have to go to to make sure this website works on YOUR browser.

Frequently Asked Questions (faq) Why did you make a website about It's a Knockout?

I belive the website has achieved all of these aims, except the last. It is only a matter of time though.

Can you get It's a Knockout back on TV?

No, not on my own. I have asked the relevant broadcaster, but it appears that one voice alone is not sufficient (even mine ;-) ).

Is your life totally dominated by It's a Knockout?

No, it is just a hobby and I do do other things... trust me.

What web design software do you use?

All the coding is done in raw HTML, usually using Notepad. For the heavier and more complex work though I sometimes resort to WordPad. There is also some JavaScript, which has also been done with Notepad.

How much time have you spent on the site?

I don't know exactly but I estimate it is somewhere in the vicinity of shiploads. Bear in mind though that work has been continuing since late 1997 and has been spread over the intervening years. I've learnt a lot of HTML. The comments below make it all worth it.

Do you want to go out on a date with me?

Only joking about that one. That belongs in the iaq (infrequently...) or perhaps naq (never...). (Credit to www.zgeek.com for this joke).

Were Frankston really that bad?

Yes. Perhaps worse. What They Said About The It's a Knockout Web

"How is your quest to get it repeated? Are you any closer? I really hope it does, during the summer. I don't see any reason why not. Is there anything I can do to help? I don't know if feedback on the Channel 10 site will work, do they even listen? Good luck. Hope you succeed in getting one of the best shows of all time back on TV" -- Ryan (Perth)
