I am trying to connect this line of Ivey/Ivy's to Jarrett Ivy who was born somewhere in NC in 1814
I obtained the information below from the Library and the book by the Gonzales County Historical Commission, History of Gonzales County, Texas, (copyright 1986 third printing 1995), Page 364 and page 365, article by Yvonne Baker Gibson. I have not been in contact with Yvonne Gibson or any other descendant of Rueben Ivey at this time. I am activately looking for them though. My Husband is already connected to some of this line, via the Caraway marriages of William Ivy to Sallie Caraway and John Franklin Ivy to Lavonia Caraway, Sallie and Lavonia Caraway are both daughters of Martin Caraway and Maria Busby. Martin Van Buren Caraway is my husband's double related kin, He is a 1st cousin, 3 times removed and his 6th cousin, 3 times emoved.
Could these Ivy's be related to Jarrett Ivy? Is that how his grandson, Jesse Sathiel Ivy met and later married Clemmi Idella Caraway. We know that Clemmi visited Gonzales County when she was a young girl.

1. Reuben Ivey was born Abt. 1790. He married Elizabeth Hudson January 02, 1821 in Transylvannia, Robeson County, NC,daughter of Thomas Hudson.
| (Please note that it has been brought to my attention that there is not any town, township, community that was called "Transylvannnia" in Robeson County. There is a County by the name of "Transylvannia" somewhere in western North Carolina, I believe that Robeson County is where Reuben is from but do not know for sure. The town and county was copied from the book by the Gonzales County Historical Commission, History of Gonzales County, Texas, (copyright 1986 third printing 1995), Page 364 and page 365, article by Yvonne Baker Gibson.) |

3. William Thomas Ivy (Reuben Ivey) was born December 29, 1838 in Carroll County, MS, and died January 12, 1891 in Gonzales County, TX. He married (1) Armstrong Sherrell. He married (2) Sarah Ellen (Sally) Davis June 15, 1871 in Gonzales County, TX, daughter of John Davis and Naomi ???.

Sarah E. Ivy filed for and received a Widow's Application for Pension for William Thomas Ivy service with the CSA. State Archives, TX Application for Confederate Pension, Widow file 21835, Form B dated June 30, 1913. Have photocopy.
