Bullet lodgement in glass plates is unexpected. The present note points out the possibility of such a phenomenon as observed during the course of experiments on bullet ricochet from triplex glass. It was found that the .380 Ball Mk.2 K.F. revolver bullet got lodged in a 5.5 mm thick triplex glass plate held in a wooden frame when fired from a distance of about one foot at an angle of 30degree. ( Photograph 1). The situation as depicted in the photograph is very unusual and may be taken as cocked. Such a view can be erroneous and detrimental to crime scene reconstruction.
