WOLVES
Wolves live in groups called a pack. Which is usaully made up of a male and female leader(Alpha male and female). The pack works as a team to hunt and care for their young.
An average male weighs 80 - 90 lbs. and females average between 60 - 80 lbs. Pups average 1 lb. at birth and grow rapidly to adult size in about 9 months.Pups run their first winter with the pack.
Wolves are predators who feed mainly on animals such as deer, elk, moose, or buffalo and they even eat rabbit, beaver, or mice if they have to.They will not attack humans unless they are threatend or rabid.
Wolves are generally afraid and shy to be around humans so they avoid them whenever possible in the wild
A LONE WOLF
She shows her fangs so sharp and true
Her face mean yet so kind
She protects her pups from harms way
I love wolves in this day
She will not attack unless forced
She is a gentle creature of the forest
She has a beautiful black coat and gleaming eyes
She warns her pups of dangerous skies
They call out to their pack
But no answer comes back
The pack has moved on to look for deer
And they have been left here
They call to their pack for a clue
None have seen them in the morning dew
Their pack has flown
They are alone
