Meet my Dogs

One of the questions I get asked most frequently is "Do you have any pets?" Yes, I do. I have two black Labrador Retreivers named Cassie and Tess, and up until October of 2001 I also had a yellow Lab named Sara.

This is Sara.Wasn't she beautiful? She lived to be fourteen and a half, which is a good long life in dog years, but not long enough in human years. We still miss her.  One of my newer books, THE PROMISE, was inspired by - and is dedicated to - Sara.  If you love dogs, you'll love this one. To learn more about it, CLICK HERE.

And here's Cassie. She'sfourteen  years old now, too, but she's still going storng. She's not as lively thinks as she used to be though. She acted like a puppy up until a year or so ago - always ready to play. Fetching  rocks was her favorite game. She would  fetch from morning to night, and once you  threw a rock for her, she could  sniff it out just about anywhere - even under water! Cassie hasn't inspired any books yet, but she has inspired a series of paintings I call "Travels of a Little Black Dog." Click here to see some of them.

This is Tess. She's two and a big "dufus." SO sweet, though. When we picked her from the breeder's, she was the smallest of the litter and we hoped she would be our next "little black dog." There's nothing little about her, though. Maybe one day I'll have to rename my gallery the "Big Dufus" gallery,
