Although the Japanese American Citizens League naturally represents
only the Nikkei population in the United States and Canada, the Japan Chapter is interested in increasing
global awareness of Nikkei history and culture worldwide. It is important for us to realize that U.S. Nikkei's
are only the second largest Nikkei population, with roughly
920,000 people, affter the 1.3 million Brazilian
Nikkeis.
