This is what we are going to make.

I wrote this tutorial step by step and with screen shots so that a beginner would be able to follow it.I hope you enjoy making this tag as much as I did.
Oh, don't forget to save your work often. Ok, let's have some fun!

Things you need:

*PSP 7 or 8
This tut was written using PSP 8
Click here to get a free trial version of PSP

*SuperBladePro
Click here to get a free trial version of SBP

*SuperBladePro Preset
Click here to download the m_coconutice.zip
Unzip the file and add to your SuperBladePro plugin enviroments and textures folder

*Font and Tube
Broadway font and Rose Vine tube
Click here to download them both
Unzip the supplies and open the font and minimize it to your task bar

STEP 1. Open a new image, 600x600 transparent
Open your rose vine tube
Click on your tube, then go to
Edit>Copy
Then click on your transparent background and go to
Edit>Paste As New Selection
Center your tube in the middle of your background and go to
Selections>Select None
Now you can close the original tube

STEP 2. Duplicate the Raster 1 layer, click on
Layers>Duplicate
In your layer palette, click on the eye next to the "Copy of Raster 1" (this will make that layer invisible)
Add a new raster layer and name "text"
Layers>New Raster Layer>Name:text
Your layer palette should look like this


STEP 3. Click on the Text Tool the Stroke/foreground and the Fill/background color should both be white
Apply these settings:
Floating, Broadway font, size~ 72, Anti-alias~ checked
The size depends on how long your text is going to be
Click anywhere on your canvas and type your name, then click OK

~~Save~~

STEP 4. With the ants still marching, go to
Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel
Apply these settings
10, 25, 7, -25, 40, white, 140, 35, 60

STEP 5. Go to
Effects>Plugins>Flaming Pear>SuperBladePro
Click on this button (see below) to open the environments and textures folder
Look for the m_coconutice.q5q file
then click OK


~~Save~~

STEP 6. Using the Move Tool position the text over the roses
Deselect
Selections>Select None

STEP 7. In the layer palette move the text layer to the bottom (make sure that layer is active)
Layers>Arrange>Send to Bottom
Make the second layer active (Raster 1)
Your layer palette should look like this


STEP 8. Go to
Adjust>Hue and Saturation>Colorize
Apply these settings:
Hue~ 60, Saturation~ 0
Now comes the tricky part (to explain anyway)

~~Save~~

STEP 9. On the layer palette, make your Raster 1 layer invisible (grayed out roses)
Make the Copy of Raster 1 layer active (colorful rose)
Your layer palette should look like this:


STEP 10. Click on the eraser tool Use these settings:
Shape~ Square, Size~ 8
You can change the size or shape of the eraser if you need to

STEP 11. Zoom in to 300%
View>Zoom>Zoom In By 5 steps
Erase any part of the vine or roses that you don’t want to see ABOVE your text like this


STEP 12. Continue to erase anything that you don’t want to see above your glass text
Make the Raster 1 layer visible (grayed out roses)
It should look like the grayed out roses are below your glass text and the colored ones are above, like this

~~Save~~

STEP 13. Zoom out to 100%
View>Zoom>Zoom to 100%
Lower the opacity on your Raster 1 layer (grayed out roses) to 50, like this

STEP 14. Go to
Layers>Merge>Merge Visible
Add a Drop Shadow (if you want)
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
I used these settings:
-3, -3, 26, 2, black

STEP 15. Add your watermark (optional)
Resize the image (if nesessary)
Image>Resize 85%
Sharpen your image after you resize it
Adjust>Sharpness>Sharpen
Crop your image
Edit>Copy>Edit>Paste>Paste As New Image
Save as a JPEG file
File>Save As
Name your tag and save as a .jpg file


Viola, and there you have your Glass text rose vine name tag, don't you love it!
