This is what we are going to make.

This was my first time at writting a tutorial, I wrote it step by step so that a beginner would be able to follow it. I hope you enjoy making this tag as much as I did.
Oh, don't forget to save your work often. Ok, let's have some fun!

Things you need:

*PSP 7 or 8
This tut was written using PSP 8
Click here to get a free trial version of PSP

*Graphics Plus plugin
Click here to download Graphics Plus
Unzip and add to your PSP plugin folder

*Font and Tube
Femme Fatale font and Vargas Pin Up tube
Click here to download them both
Unzip the supplies and open the font and minimize it to your task bar

STEP 1. Open a new image, 600x600 transparent
File>New
Open your tube
Click on your tube, then go to
Edit>Copy
Then click on your transparent background and go to:
Edit>Paste As New Selection
Center your tube in the middle of your background and click on
Selections>Select None
Now you can close the original tube

STEP 2. Duplicate the Raster 1 layer, click on
Layers>Duplicate
This is what your layer palette should look like now


STEP 3. In your layer palette, click on the eye next to the "Copy of Raster 1" (this will make that layer invisible)
Make Raster 1 active, your layer palette should now look like this


STEP 4. Right click on
Raster 1>Rename
Name it "pinwheel," like this



~~Save~~

STEP 5. Click on
Effects>Plugins>Graphics Plus>Pin Wheel
Apply these settings:
Repeater~ 125, Spinner~ 75, Scaler~ 135

STEP 6. Go to
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
Apply these settings:
Vert~ -2, Hor~ 2, Opacity~ 30, Blur~ 3, Color~ Black

STEP 7. Duplicate the pinwheel layer, click on
Layer>Duplicate
This is what your layer palette should look like


STEP 8. Make the pinwheel layer visible (click on the eye next to that layer to remove the X)
Rename the copy of pinwheel layer "mosaic" like this


~~Save~~

STEP 9. Go to
Effects>Texture>Mosaic Antique
Apply these settings:
Number of columns/rows~ 36, Symmetric~ checked, Tile~ 61, Grout width~ 2, Grout dif~ 35
In the layer palette, move the little hour glass slider to 60 on the mosaic layer
Add the same drop shadow as in step 6
Make the pinwheel layer visible, your layer palette should now look like this


STEP 10. On the palette, make the tube layer (Copy of Raster 1) visible (click on the eye to remove the X)
Resize the tube, go to
Image>Resize 65%, Bicubic, Resize all layers UNCHECKED


STEP 11. Add the same Drop Shadow

STEP 12. Using the Move Tool position the tube wherever you think it looks good

~~Save~~

STEP 13. Add a new raster layer, name it text
Layers>New Raster Layer>Name:text

STEP 14. Pick a darker color from your tube for the Stroke/foreground, I used #C55929
Pick a lighter color for the Fill/background, I used #FAC8AE

STEP 15. Click on the Text Tool and click anywhere on your canvas
If you don't already have the font open and minimized in the task bar, do that now
Apply these settings:
Floating, Femme Fatale (or any font you like), size~ 72, Bold

~~Save~~

STEP 16. Go to
Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel
In the preset box scroll to the Metallic settings, now change ONLY these two settings
Shininess~ 70 and Angle~ 45


STEP 17. Apply the same Drop Shadow
Move your text wherever you like
Deselect
Selections>Select None

STEP 18. Merge layers visible
Layers>Merge>Merge Visible

STEP 19. Add your watermark (optional)
Resize the image
Image>Resize 85% this time

STEP 20. Crop your image
Edit>Copy>Edit>Paste>Paste As New Image
Save as a JPEG file
Save As
Name your tag and save as a .jpg file

Viola, and there you have your new Mosaic Burst name tag, don't you love it!
