This is the coal car that we will be making on this page.

STEP 1. Add a new raster layer
Layers>New Raster Layer
Name: Car, click OK
On the layer palette, make the engine layer invisible (Click on the eye next to the engine layer) like this


STEP 2. Click on your paint brush tool
Choose your Foreground/Stroke color~ #288210 (the green outline is what I started with)


Follow this diagram and outline color guide, then start painting the coal car pixel by pixel
We will be using a few different outline colors shown below


STEP 3. Continue painting the rest of the coal car following the color guide

~~Save~~

STEP 4. Using the Magic Wand Tool While holding the shift key down, click inside both of the wheels, the marching ants should look like this


STEP 5. Use your Flood Fill Tool and set your Foreground/Stroke color~ #918989
now fill in the wheels grey

~~Save~~

STEP 6. Go to
Selections>Float
Effects>3D Effects>Cutout
Apply these settings:
V/H~ 0, Opacity~ 80, Blur~ 2, Shadow color~ #616161 (the same color as the outline of the wheels)


Deselect
Selections>Select None

STEP 7. Using the magic wand again this time click inside the coal car, the marching ants should look like this


STEP 8. Use your Flood Fill Tool and set your Foreground/Stroke color~ #46CF21
Click inside the car
Then go to
Selections>Float
Effects>3D Effects>Cutout
Apply these settings only changing:
Opacity~ 100, Blur~ 3, and color~ #288210 (the same color as the outline of the coal car)


Deselect
Selections>Select None
