CONTROL- In the theory of love

By

Jacqueline Howett
Two English gentleman spend a weekend together and theorize love.
The action takes place in John Firm's house. A man oppressed and living in self induced excile in London. An old friend Alex Mace stays for the weekend. We enter upon deep conversation taking shape between the two young English gentlemen before their retiring for the evening. They are heavily seated in armchairs, snuggled about the fire place. The room is set in darkness, with only the warm glimmer of light reflected from the fire, dancing shapes about the room. Upon little tables at their sides, brandy glasses remain full and long discarded as they find themselves mesmerized by the flames.
ACT ONE,
SCENE ONE.
John;  (blinking); "Anyway, if I continued to investigate and play their games, give me a year undercover with different action, somehow they would surface it from you without you ever knowing, whether you like it or not."
Alex;  (tilts his head back deep in thought); "Yes, but once you have become aware of this factor and you hold to your tongue, how can they, in spite of torture?"
John:  "Well that's just it Alex, they have their ways and methods. There is no torture but that of your own torture. Just a moment out of control and they have you caught in their nets. That's all it takes. A time when your mind is forgetful and at ease from your wounds of memory, presumptiously healed with time. For time reveals memories in the subconscious more dangerously, and amidst unforseen excitement visit to release themselves by surprise, consciously. That's life Alex."

Note from the Playwriter.
Some time in the future I hope to show you sample excerpts from my Play, a
comedy, titled, THE ARAB OXFORD BROTHERS, another work I wrote in 1984 in London, England.

Cheers,

Jacqueline Howett.

I have written many Plays. One day they might get to see the light of day, instead of being on discs.  And  I hope to submit them to market very soon.
