The circle symbolizes the Sun and archtype of the self. These are astrologically appropriate, for Sun signs represent self-expression. Carl Jung thought it was important for people to meditate on symbols of the self, but in modern life many of us lose our ability to do so. Therefore, an important addition to anyone's collection of magical jewelry is a circular broach or pendant. If you have such an artical, charge it with the following spell to recall you to your self.
First, hold the item to the light of the noon Sun as you recite, "In this round, myself am found; whole unto myself, at one with the circle of power and creation." Then, wear this amulet when feeling tired or ill, to invoke the restoration that comes through reconnection with the deep self.

To make a protection amulet, during the third or tenth hours after sunrise, or the first or eigth hours after sunset, sew a small pouch from black cloth and red thread. Place three herbs in a cauldron, and speak after each:
"Agrimony to
return negative energies to the sender.
Blackthorn to
deflect negative energies away from me.
Clove to
exorcise
harmful energies from my presence."
Stir with the tip of the ritual knife, and recite:
"Three herbs I call to
work for me, harnessing negative energy.
Take and bind
and send away harmful forces in my way."
Put the herbs in the pouch, sew it up, and set it on a pentacle. Wave your wand and touch it to the pouch.
"Earth
and Air, Fire and Water!
Emanations of the Lady and
the Lord!
I call upon they grace and love to seal
protection in this ward!"

You'll need:
Grind the caraway seeds into a powder. As you do this, concentrate on why you do not want the person to leave, on how much you want them to stay. Sprinkle the powder where the person is sure to walk through it. Glue some of it to their suitcases and the bottoms of their shoes, if you are able to.
You will need:
Boil the water and pour it over the spikenard to make a tea. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then place the stone in the solution. (If the fluorite is set in a piece of jewelry, sprinkle it with the tea instead.) Chant:
"Fluorite, perfect student's stone,
Mix with spikenard now to hone
Knowledge retention and memory skills.
Be it done as so I will!"
Leave the stone for twenty-four hours, then wear it or carry it with you.

This charm can be of two varieties. One is a general purpose charm of protection and good luck, the other for a specific purpose.
Supplies needed For a General Purpose Charm
Red for physical vitality, Blue for mental abilities, peace and protection, Yellow for cheerfulness and prosperity, Green for growth and health, Brown for stability and respect, Black for mystical wisdom, Iridescent Black for mystical insight, Barred Black, Grey or White for balance and harmony, Feathers with "eyes" such as peacock feathers for protection and inner clairvoyant vision.
If it is possible, make the Ladder on the night of a Full Moon.
Arrange your altar and cast a circle.
Use about a yard of each colours yarn. Tie the ends together and braid them together while you say :
"Yarn of Red, Black, and White Work Your magick spell this night."
Repeat this until the braid is finished. Braiding is a magical act because it makes three strands into one. This represents the three aspects of the Goddess in one. Tie a knot at the end of the braid. Starting at about a foot from the beginning of the braid, tie a feather with a knot around the base and say : (example a green feather)
"With this feather and this string Prosperity this charm will bring."
Tie all nine feathers to the cord, spacing them as evenly as possible. Tie the ends of the cord together to form a circle. Pass the finished Ladder above a candle flame then incense smoke. Sprinkle it with consecrated water and say:
"In the names of the Goddess and the God By Air, Earth, Fire and Water I consecrate this charm Of feathers nine and cord of three As I will, so mote it be!"
Hang the Ladder where it will not be seen by others but where you will see it every day.
To make a Ladder for a specific purpose, you need three feathers and one length of yarn braided into a cord in the colours of your need.
