Win 34-14 in Preseason Opener
With
an inexperienced offensive line, some were questioning whether QB
Mark Brunell should step on the field Friday Night. He did, but
not for very long, as he drove the team 80 yards in just over 2
minutes for the games first score (to Jimmy Smith, 39-yd catch),
and promptly sat for the remainder of the game. Brunell finished
3-3 with 64 yards and the TD.
The
battle for who will back-up RB Fred Taylor also looked over, with
Stacey Mack leaping ahead of Chris Howard for the job. Mack finished
with 29 yards on 8 carries, and two TDs, including a 94-yard kickoff
return to begin the second half.
