When she was thirteen, her mother brought the young ballerina, along with her sister Nicholle and brother David (Swing Kids, Stayed Tune, Roommates and now Y&R ) to Los Angeles to try their luck in showbiz for what was supposed to be a temporary, three week trial stay. Heather and her siblings found immediate success in this competitive industry and the three week stint turned into a permanent move for the family to the City of Angels. (In 2000, Heather and David both made Hollywood history by being the first brother and sister both simultaneously Nominated for Emmys in the same year. ) Heather, determined to become a professional actress, took acting classes at the Young Actor’s Space, paying for each weekly session with the money she earned working at a cookie store. Even at that young age, acting gave her a euphoric feeling. “The feeling of losing the audience for a moment and truly becoming connected with the scene and the character is absolutely incredible,” explains Heather. With her strong drive and determination, Heather landed guest appearances on numerous television shows including “Kids Inc.” and “Who’s the Boss,” among others. She has since captured co-starring roles in such projects as the ABC movie-of-the-week, “I’ll Take Romance” and the CBS movie-of-the-week “Deadly Whispers” opposite Tony Danza. She also co-starred in two feature films, Lessie's Rainbow and Looking Good. Aside from her acting stints, Heather is also very involved with such charities as Project Angel Food, AIDS Project Los Angeles and Tuesday’s Child. Heather also has a passion for politics, she once worked closely with “Rock the Vote” to help get younger voters out to vote. In her spare time, Heather spends endless hours reading plays, classical literature and scripts, travels and shops with her friends. She’s an avid art collector who has amassed an impressive collection of sculpture, paintings and prints. Heather also shares her passion for acting with young people across the country; she enjoys teaching young, aspiring actors improvisation, scene study and on-camera work. Because her first love is the theatre, she ultimately dreams of being on Broadway. If past success is any indication, Heather’s dreams and aspirations are bound to become reality. |
