~James Franco (James Dean) James Franco is among Hollywood's hottest young stars. He just completed filming a co-starring role opposite Robert De Niro in Franchise Picture's City by the Sea for director Michael Caton-Jones, and is now shooting opposite Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe and Kirsten Dunst in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man for Columbia Pictures. Franco starred in Phoenix Pictures/Sony Films Whatever It Takes. Franco also starred in NBC's critically acclaimed Freaks and Geeks as Daniel Desario, a nihilistic burnout who takes life for a ride. Before joining Freaks and Geeks, Franco co-starred opposite Drew Barrymore in the hit film Never Been Kissed. He also appeared in the TV miniseries Family Shield. Franco next stars in the Martin Scorsese-produced independent film, Deuces Wild, starring Stephen Dorff, Fairuza Balk, Brad Renfro and Matt Dillon. Franco is a painter and in his spare time he is writing a screenplay. He resides in Los Angeles.
