7 Hours
10 past 1 on a sunday night, got in my car, kissed you goodbye
drove away, began to cry, in 7 hours I'll be home
I'm so alone without you here, don't know how long till I return
See you again

I stopped for fuel about half way home, 4 O'Clock, 5 degrees
I see the sign for your town but I continue on and I'm feeling numb
I don't feel tired and I don't feel cold but I stare at the lines, pretend you're here

I smile from thinking of you
I cry from thinking about you
I love you but I never said

The sky begins to light the ground
I hear familiar voices on my radio
It's getting close to 7 O'Clock
I feel the cold wind from my open window

But another hour and I'll be home
and I'll stretch out then
Give you a call to say I'm fine

The radio no longer excites me
The cold sharp wind don't seem so cold no more
I feel a hum from the wheels beneath me
I'm just a half an hour from home

I was there when you got that call
I hate to see you cry but there's nothing that I can do
I hope you know that I loved you
I don't know how long till I see you again
