The Ancestors of Roland J. Miguez and Eve Rodriguez Miguez

Roland's parents:

Joseph Seville Miguez (1887-1962) and his wife Lily Landry Miguez (1891-1970).  The couple was married in 1913.

Seville's father was Joseph Laodice Miguez (1855-1926).  Laodice was a descendent of the Miguez family which founded the town of New Iberia, La., along with other Spanish settlers in 1779.  Laodice was from the Bernardo line of Miguez's who settled, after buying land, the Bayou Petit Anse area in 1814.  Laodice's father was Salvador Bernard Miguez (1809-1859).

Eve's parents:

Gustave Avis Rodrigue (1878-1959) and his wife Josephine Theriot Rodrigue (1884-1973).  The couple was married in 1904.

Avis Rodrigue's  parents were Louis Napoleon Rodrigue (1854-c. 1925) and his wife Eulalie Esteve Rodrigue (1859-c. 1900).  The couple was married in 1877.

Louis Napoleon' father was Louis Dupreville Rodrigue (1826-1873).  Louis was severely wounded in the right arm at the battle of Baton Rouge (1863) in the Civil War.  He had enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1862 at Thibodeaux, La.  He was a descendent of the Rodrigue family which had settled along the German Coast of the Mississippi River above New Orleans, La., in the 1760s.  Dupreville settled in Thibodeaux, La. in the 1850s where he married Marie Adeline Thibodeaux.  Originally, the Rodrigue family came from Lisbon, Portugal, and after several generations, by way of the French Quebec in the 17th century.
