I live in a suburb in Helsinki called Punavuori.  In English it means "Red Mountain".  It's not really a mountain, more like a low hill.  But in flat Finland, it may qualify as a small mountain.
Holy Cow!

These enormous bovine sculptures made from old car parts adorn a traffic island close to the shipyard..

The red car stopped at the traffic lights shows just how big the cows are.
Home, Sweet Home

This is the front of my apartment block on Merimiehenkatu, "Sailor Street".  Not very stylish and not very clean, I'm afraid.  I assure you that it is much nicer inside.

My flat is at the back of the building, so I don't get any traffic noise from the street.
Ships Ahoy

I live just a couple of blocks from the main operation of the largest shipbuilding company in Finland,
Kvaerner Masa-Yards

Here is
Carnival Pride, a boat they were working on last spring.  It is every bit as huge as it looks here.  Its final destination is the Caribbean.
