So You Don't Like BlockBuster's New Plan? | ||||||

So some overly zealous New Jersey Attorney General is suing BlockBuster because they have no late fees. How ridiculous is that. First people want to sue them because they do have late fees, now they want to sue them when they don't have late fees. Seriously people, their new program is not that complicated. The movies still have due dates but now you get to keep it up to seven days after it is due without any late fees. Hell, that is magical! Now, I know there is a slight catch but honestly if you keep your movie for more than a week after it is due then you deserve to be charged the price of the movie. Shit, they don't even stop there. You can still return the movie within 30 days of them charging you and they will credit it all back to you except a $1.25 "restocking fee". Say what?! Only a dollar twenty-five and it is 30 days late! Hell, I have been waiting for this program my entire life! Well, now some people are bitching about having to pay for the price of the movie. To those people I say, return it within your extra week then, you dumb shits. To those that have to pay because they keep it more than the thirty days I say, serves you right fucker. I couldn't watch Raising Helen because your dumbass had it forever. Afterall, what do people expect? You cannot keep it forever. Obviously they have to have some measures in place to prevent you from stealing the movie. The biggest complaint that New Jersey dipshit seems to have is the fact that the commercials do not give you all the details. I just have one question for him, does any commercial give you all the details? The commercial says plain as day that you need to contact your local store for more details. Have people just not learned that you can not get something for nothing? Do people honestly believe that BlockBuster would just let people keep movies for as long as they want? You have to ask these things people! Of course some people bitch about the restocking fee. Listen, dickheads, it cost money to put that movie back into the system. Manpower is used to put it back in the system and to reshelve the movie. Sometimes the shelf space has been cleared up. In that case, someone has to make room for the movie again. Another thing to consider is that in the old days you got charged a late fee for every rental period the movie was late. One of their two day rentals would have three late fees on it within that seven day grace period. At the store I rent that would be around $12.00! I would have to say that $1.25 is a much better deal. Another thing people are crying about is the fact that some franchises are not going along with the whole "no late fees" thing. Well, guess what, they do not have to. Haven't you ever tried to get the McRib at a McDonald's only to find out that that particular McDonald's is not carrying it? It is the same concept. Since they are not owned by the McDonald's main corporation then they do not have to carry the McRib. BlockBusters that are franchises are not owned by the main BlockBuster corporation so they do not have to honor the new policy. Many of them are, but they do not have to. Well, I just had to get that off my chest. I know BlockBuster is an evil corporation that drowns out small business owners, but I think this new plan is a step towards the not so evil side. I guess time will tell! |
