Groom's Wedding Kimono Montsuki kimono are used for ceremonies and special occasions which
bears the family crest on both the front and back of the kimono. The
kimono is full length and is tucked into the hakama pants. A matching
haori overcoat is then worn over the kimono to complete the attire. The
traditional color of the kimono is black with white crests, however today
they are available from beautiful shades of purple to exquisite earth
tones.
Hakama
is an outer garment worn over a full length kimono that are split between
the legs like pants. Hakama pants originated as an outer garment to
protect samurai warriors legs from brush when riding a horse. Today, the
hakama is worn as formal attire for japanese wedding ceremonies, dances, martial
arts and by artists. The japanese pants are made of either cotton, rayon
or a polyester blend. The traditional color of the hakama is
black, gray or brown with white pinstripe. Today however, the pants are
available in many colors from purple to blue and even graduating shades of
color.
