(Bloomberg) -- Maple Leaf Foods Inc., Canada's biggest food processor,
said today it will expand a recall of meat products after health
officials identified a Toronto plant as the source of food poisoning
that led to four deaths. Laboratory results linked meat products
from the plant with an outbreak of listeriosis in four provinces,
the Public Health Agency of Canada said in a statement late yesterday.

              Any
potential windfall from record prices is mitigated by the robust
loonie, according to Lyle Oberg, Alberta's minister of finance.
For every dollar the price of oil jumps, Alberta receives an extra
                $140 million.
              Since
the jump in gas prices, Oil companies have reported record profits.
                NO KIDDING!!

DePrisco of Woodbridge, Ont. was vacationing with a long-time
friend when Mexican authorities say he was killed leaving a nightclub
after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run. However, DePrisco's
travelling buddy, Marco Calabro, believes he was beaten to death
after dancing with a local man's girlfriend.
              I
say boycott Mexico. Don't vacation there.

              An
American sailor killed during an early morning bar brawl in Halifax
was a "Good Samaritan" trying to break up a fight he wasn't even
involved in, police said Sunday. Damon Crooks, 28, of Jacksonville,
Fla., was stabbed early Saturday outside a downtown club after
a fight that began inside spilled onto the street. Cory Wright,
23, of Halifax, was charged Sunday with first-degree murder.

Peter Whitmore was a well known pedophile with a string of convictions
for assaults against children, why the &%$# was he let out
                of prison?
              I
mean, what is this? Job creation for the Justice system? Yeah,
let's allow a few nuts out, and throw in a few convicted killers,
and allow them all to roam free and then the public will allow
themselves to be sucked dry in taxes.

              The
mad cow issue is still plaguing Canada. Actually, I was reminded
that back in the early 90's, Japan had a
mad cow problem and we banned all their beef to be imported
here. Now, they are doing it back to us. They are also pressuring
the US not to import our beef.

              The United
States has been accused of covering up cases of mad cow disease
in the past eight years, a former U.S. agriculture inspector said
Tuesday at a House of Commons committee.
