The Gamble Ch. 12
The silence in the car was oppressive. Brenda was mad at Jax for coming after her and Jax
was mad at Brenda for putting herself in danger.
Neither seemed to care that Brenda and Jerry's plan to eliminate the person who had been
feeding information to her father, had worked. When they arrived at the family estate,
Brenda jumped out of the car before Jax turned off the ignition.
I've had it, he thought as he got out of the car. Brenda never knew what hit her.
Jax grabbed her from behind and threw her over his shoulder, caveman style. BrendA shifted
her weight to throw him off balance, but he wAs expecting it and shifted his weight to
counter her move. To add insult to injury he smacked her behind and ordered her to be
still.
Brenda had been angry before but now
she was livid.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" she shouted.
"Your husband." he shouted back.
Ch. 13
Jax didn't know how he was going to get into the house. If he released his hold on Brenda
she would run from him. That is after she got him back for throwing her over his shoulder.
Fortunately for him his parents were awake and waiting for news of Brenda. When they heard
Brenda shouting they came outside to see what was going on.
Without offering his parent's any explanations Jax swept past them and went inside. Brenda
stopped shoutings to not wake the children., but continued to threaten him with all
manners of bodily harm, once he put her down.. He carried her to the guest wing of the
house, for he didn't want the children to interrupt them.
Striding into one of the bedrooms, Jax dumped Brenda on the king-size bed. She immediately
scrambled onto her knees and glared at him. Turning his back on her, Jax calmly walked
over to the bedroom door and locked it. He barely escaped getting hit by her shoe. Before
she could throw the other he was pulling her into his arms.
"Jax, what do you think you're doing?" asked Brenda.
Tightly hugging her against his chest he answered, "Brenda I've spent the last two
years in hell. trying to protect my family. I've had to watch my kids grow up from afar
for fear of them being hurt because I'm their father. Even though they didn't always see
me i was there. Their first steps and first words, things we should have shared as loving
parents, I denied myself"
Brenda felt tears run down her cheeks at the pain in Jax voice. still she remained silent
as he continued talking.
" Not only did I deny myself them, but you also. I hurt you to protect you and I'll
live with that knowledge for the rest of my life. I know I made the choice to let you go,
but knowing it doesn't make it hurt any less. I can't do it more. I need you all in my
life. I want to wake up every morning with you in my arms. I want us to be a family, but I
also want you to want it.
Pulling her face up to his, "Brenda, love me." he whispered.

Ch. 14 Brenda's POV
Brenda looked into the eyes of her best friend, her partner,her protector and the father of her children and knew there was no way she could live without him.
Jax was her soulmate and she was his.
The past two years had been unbearable. The twins where the only thing that kept her going, them and the hope she had buried deep in her heart. Hope that she and Jax would work things out. Could she break the wall of anger she had buried her hopes and dreams under.
There was a time not long ago, when she would have given anything to be with Jax but pride was a funny thing. Pride was a lonely bedfellow, it wouldn't help her raise their children and pride wouldn't comfort her when she needed it. Jax would

Brenda whispered her heart. "Love is Everything"
