Craig Kilborn Talks to Timberwolves Fans

Before the Timberwolves faced the playoff-bound Memphis Grizzlies, the Timberwolves hosted a special event with guest speaker and Timberwolves fan Craig Kilborn from CBS' Late Late Show which follows Letterman nightly.

On this night, Craig talked about basketball and even gave career advice.

When it comes to basketball, Kilborn is much more than a fan.  A die-hard Timberwolves fan, Kilborn predicted a Wolves win before the game.  After all, "they don't lose when I fly to town."  (Kilborn was not wrong as the Timberwolves won 90-82 mostly behind Cassell's 36 points.)

But Kilborn is more than an NBA follower and predictor.  Kilborn talked about his college basketball days at Montana State University.  His high school coach came up and talked about Craig's high school days.  In fact, Kilborn dunked in a game during his freshman year.  Kilborn added that he scored 26 points that night unfortunately in a loss.

One father asked Kilborn for career advice.  His son wants to be an athelete and TV personality.  Craig told the boy to forget TV and "work on your game and practice as much as you can.  That will keep you off the street."

Kilborn was also assisted and grilled by Timberwolves broadcaster Tom Hanneman.  Tom helped by passing around the microphone to Wolves fans with questions and asked Craig to share his experience "escaping the mean streets of Hastings" as a youth.

It was a great night with Craig signing autographs afterwards and taking pictures with fans.

Craig Kilborn's appearance was made possible by FansFirst.  As someone who could be there, I want to thank Craig Kilborn and the Timberwolves FansFirst staff.
