Erin Torpey's Biography
Erin Torpey was born on February 14, 1981 in Pennslyvania. Her parents are Joe and Sue Torpey. Erin has a sister named Shannon and two dogs, Molly and Cuervo.
Erin Torpey joined One Life to Live at the tender age of eight, playing Jessica Buchanan, who grew into a smart young woman dealing with both love and loss. Miss Torpey's portrayal of Jessica earned her Soap Opera Awards -- for Outstanding Teen Performer in 1997 and Favorite Teen Star in 2000. She also received a 2000 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress.
Miss Torpey made her Broadway debut in the 1990 revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, starring Charles Durning and Kathleen Turner. Her next Broadway stint was at age 11, in the musical version of Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl. Miss Torpey has appeared in stage productions of Evita and Annie, among others, and can be heard on numerous television and radio jingles. She left One Life to Live in 2003.
Continuning her acting and voice over career Erin is the voice of Sleeping Beauty for Disney and many other voices for television and radio. "Not sure what I would do without my guitar. My songs are mostly written in the dark maybe a candle or two.. My voice has been an outlet for me. From when I was 2 singing(screaming) Hallalluula in the grocery cart to paying gigs by the time I was 6. My songs are pieces of my life thus far. This is it. My heart on a platter..Hallalluula
Erin is now a singer, focusing specifically in the acoustic rock and folk genres.
