Texas Hash


  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 large onions, sliced
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 1 16 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 C uncooked rice
  • 2 t salt
  • 1 - 2 t chili powder
  • 1/8 t pepper
  • 1 8 oz can tomatoe sauce
Heat oven to 350°. In large skillet, cook and stir meat, onion and green pepper until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain off fat. Stir in tomatoes, rice, salt, chili powder, tomatoe sauce and pepper. Heat through. Pour into ungreased 2 qt. casserole. Cover. Bake for 1 hour.
