Augratin Potatoes


  • 6 med. potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 C onion chopped
  • 1/4 C butter
  • 2 C shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 T flour
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 2 C milk
  • 1/4 C bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 350°. In medium sauce pan sauté flour in butter til slightly colored. Add onion, salt and pepper. Add milk and cheese. While bringing the mixture to a boil, arrange potatoes in casserole dish. When mixture boils pour over the potatoes. Top with bread crumbs and bake for 1 hour or til potatoes are done.
