Organizing is something human service professionals do everyday. According to Homan (1999) " organization is fundamental to your success. Organization means people working in concert. It is both a process and an outcome. You do things through organization, and you build an organization as you do things" (p. 181).
Organizing is a change strategy for community change. " When individuals concentrate their power by acting together in planned, purposeful ways, much can be achieved " (Homan, 1999, p. 148).
The group is organizing the effort for community change. " The group realizes that its survival depends on increasing shared responsibility as well as personal accountability" (Homan, 1999, p. 300).
