Maria's X-Men FanFic
Welcome to my first attempt at Fan Fiction! I hope you enjoy the story. I've been a moderate X-Men fan for a long time and my favorite character is Wolverine (of course!). Just want to say the Hugh Jackman did a PHENOMENAL job bringing my Wolvie to life! I couldn't picture anyone else as my favorite little furball! As always...I need your feedback!!! Chapter 1
Logan felt tired. Not that he had just finished beating the tar out of Cyclops in the Danger Room...not that kind of tired. It was a weariness that comes with age and time. Logan had certainly experienced enough of both. He slowly padded his way towards the showers, cracking his neck from side to side in an effort to get some type of relief. As the warm, humid steam of the showers quickly filled his nostrils, Logan removed his uniform and stepped into the soothing spray of water.
He let his mind drift. Thoughts and images appeared...old friends, lovers, enemies. There were certainly plenty of enemies. The pulsating water coursed over Wolverine's body. He turned and shfted to expose his sore areas to the massaging fingers of the shower. Yes, Logan was feeling old and tired.
It had been several months since Xavier had noticed any activity from Magneto and his Brotherhood. Not that it was a bad thing, but Logan lived for excitement. He was not what one would consider a sit-at-home type...not like Scott and Jean. They seemed perfectly content with each other and the down time. Playing house together like two little love birds...Logan could feel the bile rising in his throat. He knew that Jean would never leave Scott for him..unrequited love seemed to be Logan's lot in life.
With his shower complete, Logan donned a nearby robe and retreated to his room in the Xavier Mansion. The sound of his wet, bare feet on the shiny tile of the hallway simply added to Logan's feeling of despair. As the door to his room closed behind him, he dropped his towel and stood naked infront of his full length mirror. His body was hard, muscles tight. He scanned his stocky frame, noting a scar here and there - little reminders of his past. He flung his arms out to the side, releasing his long, Adamantium claws. They caught the sun streaming in from his window and shone brightly, almost glowing a resilient silver.
Suddenly, Wolverine's acute senses picked up something faint. A light, flowery smell....a smell that he was all too familiar with. He quickly turned and opened the door, startling Jean who was about to knock on it.
"Oh, Logan," she breathed after regaining her composure.
Logan touched his nose, "Smelled ya comin'."
Jean opened her mouth to speak, but stopped. She slowly glanced at Wolverine.
"What's the matter, darlin'?" he asked innocently. The sight of her scanning his body excited him.
Her gaze returned to meet his eyes. "Am I interrupting something?"
"Just finished showering, wanna help me find some clothes?" he flashed her his most feral grin and opened the door wider.
Against her better judgement, Jean couldn't help but reach out and place her hand on Logan's hairy chest, feeling the muscles ripple beneath. As Logan reached for her, she pulled her hand away, face flush. "I'll have to pass on your invitation. The Professor wants to see us in his office right away. Something's happened." She quickly turned and left.
"Be right there, Jeannie. Don't start the party without me," Logan called after her.
Logan closed the door. Damn! She was right there....willing too. Oh well, alittle something to keep him going. He quickly dressed and high-tailed it for the Professor's office.
As usual, Logan was the last to arrive. The others were scattered about the room with Xavier seated behind his desk. Cyclops and Jean were together on the leather sofa, Storm stood near the Professor on his right as if she were a handmaiden, Gambit sat in a leather wingback chair with Rogue perched on the left arm and Beast squatted on the floor in front of the sofa with Jubilee. They all turned their eyes to Logan as he swung the door open.
The Professor cleared his throat, "Now
that we're all here, let's begin."
