"Ain't it Good to Be Alive..."
One incredible journey--lots of wisdom and growth-the hard way. Now time to give back to those who have been there along the way, and to those yet to come.
One in four persons is directly affected by the disease of addiction. The disease is chronic, progressive, and if left untreated, fatal. This disease, like all others, does not respect race, creed, or religion. Form of ingestion is irrelevant-wet, dry, inhaled, or IV, the results are the same.
Personal, moral, physical and spiritual devastation.
Some of us die of this disease, without ever realizing there was a problem.
Those of us who do survive, and enter recovery, discover a life only dreamed of before.
It is with gratitude that we endeavor to help those who still suffer. With time, that gratitude evolves into a moral responsibility to share with others-what it was like, where we are today, and how we got there.
As this page evolves, I will be sharing some of what if was like for me, and the countless miracles that brought me to where I am today.
Those who've been there: The universe rushed in when help was sought.  It came in many guises; detox and recovery, friends, music (alternative inspiration), travel, sports-sailing and running (alternative opiate), spirituality (the ultimate opiate). Special thanks to the friends of Jimmy K. To anyone who struggles out there, it does get better. Would love to hear from you. To those who have not travelled this road yet, check out my links for some clues of what I've learned along the way.  Would love to hear from you too! Getting clean is a physical process, staying clean is where love comes in.
Family-the friends God picked.
Friends-the family I picked.
