Description

This is an early transistorized portable radio made by GE. It runs on four D (flashlight) cells. The case and carrying handle are leather. It receives AM only.

The case opens to access the battery compartment. Most of the components are on a printed circuit board which is on a metal chassis. It has a 3 inch speaker, ferrite rod antenna, and 6 transistors. There is a 1/8 inch headphone jack.

It initially was not working. The headphone jack was making a poor connection and disconnecting the speaker. After cleaning the contacts it worked again. I did not do any restoration other than some minimal cleaning.

Oct 2006 Update

I no longer have this radio. A gentleman on the Internet was searching for this particular radio and contacted my about selling it. I'm not particularly interested in transistor radios so I sold it to him.
