All of us will remember exactly where we were
and what
we were doing at 8:45 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time
On
Tuesday, September 11, 2001.
I am sickened by
the realization
that so many unsuspecting,
uninvolved,
and completely
innocent human beings should have their
otherwise routine and happy lives taken so suddenly.
So many plans and dreams are now cut short,
So many
families stricken with deeply, personal losses.
All of us,
However, will forever be affected.
At my brother's office, in the New York area, many of his
friends who are missing and loved ones who narrowly
escaped.
Many of his clients also know victims of this
tragedy.
To be sure,
it is a time of great personal
sadness for everyone.
The acts of September 11, 2001 were directed
not just at
Americans
but at all civilized
and "Democratic" people.
Certainly, we should seek justice.
As swiftly and
vigorously as possible,
We should take steps to deter
and protect against such barbarism in the future.
But as a civil nation,
we must also now guard against
slipping down a slope of -
Hatred and Revenge.
The only
way to begin coping with such tragedy
is to move ahead
as civilized people engaging in civil acts.
Today
it is more important than ever
to strengthen
the ties that bind our civilization together.
At his
company,
He plans' to continue with his own business,
and to try his best to do his part.
The best possible response for these unspeakably
hateful acts is to continue leading a civilized life,
So we can ultimately declare that this attack on
Democracy,
economic freedom
and civilization failed.
We are,
after all,
still civilized.
I, as a "Republican" am quite sure
President "George Bush" has a well prepared plan!
One that will be completed, One that Mr. Clinton did NOT finish ~
