Surprise! I'm still alive!

(But maybe I should back up
and introduce myself
It feels like its been that long!)

I'm that long-lost person
who always meant to write
but everytime I almost got
pen and paper (almost did),
something in my crazy life
decided to break
or go out of control
or come crashing down

I'm that person
who's thought of you
a million times
and laughed a million
and one
about the crazy things
we've done
and the fun times we had

I'm that person
who finally, by some miracle
actually got this in the mail

and knows

that you're just as busy
and that you'll understand

I'm that person who hopes~
who just knows-
that no matter where we are
or how long its been
there will always be
a connection between us
that needs no introduction
no catching up...
