Fan Encounters

Jessica's Most Memorable Fan Encounter:
"In Atlantic City, a waitress told me that I looked just like Jen from OLTL, except that I have only some of her facial features and my hair is much shorter than hers. It was kind of funny to be told that I don't quite look like myself."

Shannan Voegel's First Encounter with Jessica:
Back in 1994, Jessica Morris became a freshman at Lee High School. I was a sophomore.

At Lee, to enter the Drama Club, you had to take Drama I. Jessica was in Drama I and I had entered Advanced Drama (drama club). We (AD) were working on a play called "Flight Into Danger" a cheesy drama about food poisoning on a charter airplane.

Shannon White, a cheerleader, had a conference she had to go to and told us that she wouldn't be able to be in the performances of "FID" so she recruited a freshman called Jessica Morris. I knew who she (Shannon) was talking about because I had been going to school with her brother, Wesley since elementary school. Well, when I first met Jessica, she was kind of quite, but she was sweet. And she saved the play with her help.

I didn't really speak much more to Jessica that year because we didn't have any classes. But she was all over the yearbook in some places. She was a part of the new dance team the school got called "Attitude" They were cool and they had some great performances when the school had events.

Shannan Voegel's 1995 Drama Club Encounter with Jessica:
1995, Lee High School, Drama Club. I was in my second year as an advanced student. Jessica just joined the ranks. This was the year the drama club was going to do Grease. We were all excited about the musical. We loved the movie and couldn't wait to perform it. I played Jan (remember: Brusha-brusha-brusha) and Jessica played Patty. Now, here's the interesting story about this production. We had all the scripts, the music and we had a week before we went on for the school and our family...then the axe was dropped. The teacher didn't get the proper approval and rights to do the musical. So, even though we didn't get to make money to raise funds again for the drama club, we still put the production on, FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY, for free, for our family and friends at school. Jessica did a wonderful job playing Patty. And she was really nothing like Patty at all in real life. Patty was annoying, is what I mean by that. Jessica was also a co-captain that year of the dance team "Attitude."

Every year, the drama club got to go to Universal Studios during Spring Break. This was the year that Jessica and her brother, Wes went. If you look at the one group photo of, I am in the middle with my hands covering my face and Jessica is at my left (if you are looking at the picture). We had fun and I had never seen so many teenagers acting like kids, like when we ventured into Fifle's Playland. I have one picture of Jess shooting down the water tunnel in a inner-tube. I have more of her being soaked, but I figured one embarassing picture is enough. Those were the days.
