Jen Quotes Page Three
Melanie: "Are you okay?"
Jen: "Yeah, sure. My dad checked up on me. Anyway, I'm not afraid of the Boogeyman."
Jen: "I'm all right."
Cristian: "No, you're not. And I know you enough by now to know that."
Jen: "Maybe this is the real me, and you just can't hack it."
Cristian: "When I first met you, you were so alive, so intense.."
Jen: "So annoying."
Jen: "I'm 18, Mother!"
Lindsay: "Well, that doesn't mean you're ready to be on your own!"
Jen: "Right. When I was in Switzerland, you and Daddy lived under the bed."
Cristian: "I can handle whatever comes up."
Jen: "So modest, too."
Lindsay: "I'm just trying to make the best out of a bad situation."
Jen: "A bad situation. A bad situation is a cold sore on prom night... or getting a speeding ticket..."
Jen: (About getting dirty while working at the Community Center) "I'm going to need a sauna and a scrub after this."
Jen: (Sarcastically, to Jessica) "Right, because I'm totally selfish. You're just Little Miss Perfect and I'm not, right? (Jen sees Joey walking over) You know, what your brother is doing here is kind of amazing when you think about it. If I can do my part, it'll make me happy."
Rae: "You know, Jen, I think you might really enjoy this work. I'll need the name of every kid who comes in here and their age and address if they have one."
Jen: "So I have to talk to all these people?"
Rae: "And you'll have to take notes of every session."
Jen: "I have to listen to all their problems?"
Rae: "And you must keep it absolutely confidential. You understand?"
Jen: "Like you did?"
Rae: "I'm going to send you some books. It might give you some insight into what these kids are going through. All right?"
Jen: "Great. So now I have homework?"
Rae: "You might actually learn something."
Jen: "I already did. Don't lie to a judge."
Lacey: (About Jen's shawl) "Could I borrow it? It's freezing in here."
Jen: "Get real. This is cashmere."
Joey: "Okay. You've been through more than any person should ever have to. You miss your dad, and now your mom."
Jen: "Well, at least I get to visit her in the loony bin. I guess I should be grateful for that, right?"
Jen: "Yeah, it's a real drag when you find out the person who killed your father is your mother."
Joey: "Whoa, look out. Don't mess up your $200 shoes."
Jen: "Actually, they cost $300."
Jen: "You're a minister."
Joey: "So what?"
Jen: "Trust me, you're an amateur when it comes to screw-ups."
Joey: "I think they still know my name in all the bars in London. And most of them in Dublin."
Jen: "That's hardcore."
Jen: "So, you're human after all."
Joey: "Yep."
Jen: "I still think I have you beat in the screw-up department."
Jen: "Look, I've had classes all day and I'm wiped, so could you stop with the pounding?"
Jen: "Is it okay for us to be in the same club together? I mean, I wouldn't want to break one of your rules you just thought up."
Jen: (To Joey) "I'm just too crazy, right? I'm a mental patient just like my mother."
Antonio: "A witness saw your mother standing over her with a pillow. Jen, we're not sure that she did it. The evidence is just circumstantial. The problem is, we haven't been able to question her."
Jen: "She's totally lost it again?"
Rae: "So what are you saying? You think you care about Joe?"
Jen: "Who wouldn't? He's hot."
Jen: "What, so I can vote and I can join the army and die, but I can't have a little drink?"
Jen: "Nobody cares, not even my own mother."
Rae: "Well, now, wait. There's -- there's Joe Buchanan."
Jen: "He's just the guard on my cellblock."
Jen: "I mean, what kind of a name is Flash, anyway? She should be walking around in tights and a cape."
Jen: (to Natalie, when she speaks of Jen's marriage to Rex) "Yeah, well, don't expect me to be all warm and fuzzy and make casseroles for family get-togethers."
Jen: (About herself and Joey) "Actually, we're very much in love and he's leaving the church to be with me."
Flash: "Yeah, and I have a ticket on the next space shuttle." (She leaves)
Jen: (Sarcastically calls out to Flash, who is wearing a very short green dress) "Nice dress!"
Jen: "Where's my checkbook?"
(Rex pulls it out from behind him)
Jen: "Should have been the first place I looked.."
(Lindsay questions Jen's marriage to Rex)
Jen: "Mom, you're in a mental hospital. I don't think you have room to judge."
