Jessica on "Soap Talk" Transcript
Ty: "When it comes to keeping her man, there is nothing One Life to Live's Jen Rappaport won't do."
(A clip of Jen and Cristian)
Lisa: "Please welcome Jessica Morris!"
(Jessica comes out, as the audience cheers and applauds)
Jessica: "Thanks!"
Lisa: "Yay! Hi, Jessica! Nice seeing you. Oh, you're so pretty!"
Jessica: "Thank you!"
Lisa: "Well, welcome! Welcome! How are you?"
Jessica: "I'm great. I'm great. It's good to be in L.A. The warm weather."
Lisa: "That's right. Being in New York, it's like 30 below right now, isn't it?"
Jessica: "Exactly. We had a heat wave come through over the weekend, so 30 degrees is.."
Lisa: "Really?"
Ty: "Yeah, that's the heat wave. I know. But you were.. I mean, you were born in Florida, so.."
Jessica: "Exactly. So, I'm used to the warm weather."
Ty: "From New York, to Florida.. I mean, from Florida to New York."
Jessica: "Florida, to California, and now to New York, so.. I had no winter clothes. I had to go out and buy a bunch of sweaters and coats. But, I'm okay now." (Laughs)
Lisa: "So, when you got this job, you were living here."
Jessica: "Right."
Ty: "In Cali."
Jessica: "In California."
Ty: "You had driven across country with your brother? Is that how you left Florida?"
Jessica: "Yes! Me and my brother, we drove across country, and then he flew back, so.. it was kind of sad when he left. I was like, 'Don't leave me!'"
Ty: "Okay, so he just moved you out here - he didn't stay."
Jessica: "Yeah. Yes. He came out with me, and then-"
Ty: "Because you weren't out here very long."
Jessica: "Two years."
Ty: "Oh, you were.. two years. Okay. And then you came back to One Life to Live, and you came on as kind of the good girl."
Jessica: "Well-"
Ty: "When you first came on."
Jessica: "Right at first, I was kind of a troublemaker. And then, as soon as I fell in love with Cristian, then I got all goody-goody and sweet and that whole thing. That's what I like to think it was. And then-"
Ty: "What Cristian wanted Jen to be."
Jessica: "Exactly. Like Cristian's a good guy, so I kind of feel like Jen was trying to be what he would want."
Ty: "Right."
Lisa: "That's a good way to validate it, too."
Jessica: "Exactly!"
Lisa: "So that it's not like you're playing, you know-"
Jessica: "-so that it's not like I'm playing for myself."
Ty: "And that's what you have to do, because sometimes you take personality switches, right?"
Jessica: "Mm hm."
Ty: "The writers will take you in a different direction, so you have to-"
Jessica: "Right, it's a little inconsistent, so you have to kind of justify it for yourself - and that's how I - because Jen is very manipulative. So, she wanted to be what the guy wanted her to be."
Lisa: "Which there are a lot of women out there like that, you know."
Jessica: "Exactly."
Ty: "True, true.."
Lisa: "Quite a few.. (pauses) Not myself, certainly!! (Laughs) But-"
Ty: "And now you're back to being bad to the bone."
Jessica: "And it's so fun! (Applause) I love it!"
Ty: "You better be careful. You're going to end up like your mother."
Jessica: (Laughs) "I'm not too far off."
Lisa: "Now why do you like being bad to the bone as opposed to being goody-goody. It's just more fun?"
Jessica: "It's more fun. It's like all the things you'd like to say to people and like to do to people - but you can't, really, in real life, because you'd have no friends. And 'cause you'd get into too much trouble."
Ty: "Yeah."
Jessica: "But you can do it, and get paid to pretend to do it. So it's great, you know?"
Ty: "Were you nervous the first day on the set?"
Jessica: "Definitely!"
Ty: "Yeah!?"
Jessica: "Definitely. I was really nervous. I mean, it was nice working with David. I mean, he makes you feel really relaxed and everything."
Ty: "Right. Yeah, he's very cool."
Jessica: "But, um, mainly, it's like the walking thing. You can't - like, it's hard to walk normally when you're stiff and nervous. All of a sudden, you're like, you have to remind yourself to put one foot in front of the other and like, walk like a human being, and not some kind of weird robot person."
Ty: "Yeah, 'cause you're thinking about it."
Jessica: "-you're too self-concious."
Ty: "-you're like, 'Wait, do I bend my knees when I walk? No, I don't bend my knees.. do I bend my knees?' You think about stuff like that."
Jessica: "Yeah, you think about things way too much."
Lisa: "Isn't that funny?"
Ty: "But, now, you have like a special model walk that you do, right?"
Jessica: "Yeah, it's my-"
Ty: "Let me see it, come on!"
(Jessica does a sexy model move in her chair. The audience cheers and applauds.)
Jessica: "-it's my sexy Jen look."
Ty: "A little sashay!"
Jessica: "Yeah!"
Lisa: "Now, let me ask you.. what's it like working.. with Ty?"
Ty: "Oh!!"
Jessica: "It's great. I mean, I liked working with you when you were Colin. 'Cause you were so great at playing a psycho."
Ty: "We had a lot of good scenes."
Jessica: "Yeah."
Lisa: "-I wonder why!!! I wonder why!!!"
Ty: "No, I wasn't playing!"
Jessica: "I don't know, that was fun. But I'm hoping we can work together more now. 'Cause I think Dr. Troy and Jen might be a little - a good little hookup, maybe."
(The audience applauds.)
Ty: "That would be so much fun!"
Jessica: "That would be exciting!"
Ty: "That would make Lindsay's head pop off, are you kidding me?!"
Jessica: "Yes! That would piss Lindsay off."
Ty: "Oh, to no end!"
Jessica: "And that would be great."
Ty: "-to no end."
Jessica: "-great payback."
Ty: "That's funny. So, now, it's interesting. You are Jessica Morris-"
Jessica: "Mm hm."
Ty: "-one of the other girls on the show - the character of Jen - but the other character on the show is Jessica. Your best friend in real life is Melissa Archer-"
Jessica: "Melissa, who plays Natalie."
Ty: "You have a sister Natalie. It's like all these-"
Jessica: "Right. I'm Jessica, I have a real-life sister, Natalie. So it's kind of strange that on the show there's a Jessica and Natalie sister. It kind of makes me feel like it's all destined or something."
Lisa: "I believe in that, totally! I do!"
Jessica: "Yeah!"
Lisa: "I'm a firm believer in that. It's, like, already written, and you don't even know it."
Jessica: "-signs."
Lisa: "And then, boom!"
Jessica: "It just happens."
Lisa: "Yeah!"
Ty: "So, how did you end up best friends with your worst enemy?"
Jessica: "Well, um, we didn't really work together before we became friends. And it's kind of great, because, we have any like weirdness or awkwardness in our friendship, we can just let it out when we're working together."
Ty: "Oh."
Jessica: "And so then, when we're hanging out after work, we're over it. And we can just have fun."
Ty: "I get ya."
Lisa: "Well, that's good, because, girls do get weird."
Jessica: "Yeah, you get weird."
Lisa: "-girls get weird!!"
Jessica: "And little things bother you -- just the way that they look at you one day or something."
Lisa: "And we're afraid to say anything-"
Jessica: "Yeah."
Lisa: "-you don't want to hurt their feelings."
Jessica: "It's like the whole passive-agressive thing."
Lisa: "Isn't that weird?! Like, we'll say it to a guy, but we won't say it to a girl."
Ty: "Really?"
Lisa: "At least I won't. I get the same way, so - how great!"
Jessica: "Mm hm! Exactly. So, you let it out at work. You get out, and you're like, 'I love you!'" (Hugs herself)
Lisa: "Isn't that great?!"
Ty: "-afterwards: 'Let's go karaoke!' You guys still karaoke together?"
Jessica: "Yeah, yeah, it's a lot of fun. Melissa's a superstar up there."
Ty: "I know. When we come back, Jessica's going to tell us why she wants to be the next Bachlorette!"
Lisa: "Wow!"
Voice Over: "Coming up next, is One Life to Live's Jessica Morris the next Bachlorette?"
