CHAPTER 1

"Oh please Paul slow down will yer, me feet are killing me!" Betty moaned as the pair of them were walking back to the Beatles hotel suite in the New York Plaza Hotel.
A bare footed Anna slowly trailed behind them, hand in hand with John who was carrying her white kitten healed shoes in his other hand. Both of them had been laughing and joking with each other since they'd left the party down stairs in the Plaza's great reception hall. It had been a welcoming party for the Beatles first visit to New York.
Paul raised his eyes and smiled and waited for Betty to catch up with him, once she had he swept her up off her feet and carried her the rest of the way down the corridor. "Thank you" she put her arms round his neck then kissed him softly on the lips leaving behind a small trace of her lipstick on his top lip. "Oops" she giggled gently rubbing it off with her thumb.

People in New York certainly knew how to party as the four of them had been dancing all evening. George and Ringo had gone back to the hotel suite early complaining they were still tired from the flight. Well at least Ringo had. Meanwhile George had gone to the Pepper Mint Lounge with Neil to check out the Night time sites of the city.

"Last orders please" the bartender of the Pepper Mint Lounge bellowed over the bar. "Right well that's me done in for the night Neil, I'm Knackered lets head back to the hotel." George quickly downed the last of his drink.
As they pushed through the crowd to get out, George accidentally knocked into a young girl, sending her drink all over her dress and the glass to the floor smashing into pieces. The girl didn't bother to look who had knocked into her "You stupid idiot" she blurted out bending down to pick up the pieces of broken glass. Being the kind young gentleman that George was he walked round and bent down to help the girl pick the pieces of glass up. "I'm sorry luv". The girl paused for a second as if she were afraid to look up at him. She recognised that voice from some where, her curiosity forced her to look up at him. "GEORGE" she exclaimed completely taken by surprise. "Oh my God Darcey is that you?"
Darcey was John's ex girlfriend, they'd split up almost two years ago all because she'd kissed Neil one night at one of their shows. It was all perfectly innocent, She'd kissed him to protect herself from a gang of girls who suspected she was going out with John. Darcey tried to get the girls off her back by saying that she was Neil's girlfriend and not John's. But the plan totally backfired the girls didn't believe her and she got badly beaten in the ladies room. On the way back home in the van that night, all of them were drinking scotch, and Darcey confessed to what had happened. Of course John was mad at her and the van got pulled to a stop and he kicked Darcey out, along with her friend Phyllis who was currently dating Paul at the time, out into the freezing cold and left them to walk home. That had been the last time she ever saw him.

That had been 2 years ago both John and Paul had moved on since then. They'd met a duo at Abbey Road in the studios one afternoon. At the time the two girls named Anna Ellis and Betty Frost had just started out in the music business and were making their first single. Paul instantly fell for Betty and asked her for a date at the cinema that evening, which she accepted and from that day on they'd started going out with each other. Meanwhile It took John and Anna a while to get together, Anna already had a boyfriend when she met John, but her boyfriend would be very violent towards her and would constantly beat her. One night after he'd beat her really bad she ran away and went the Betty's house. Betty had John and Paul round that evening and when they saw the state Anna was in John offered Anna to move in with him. Since she'd moved in with John their relationship blossomed resulting in them becoming an item. Since then a contract had been drawn up and the girls would tour with the Beatles as the supporting act.

CHAPTER 2

Darcey continued to pick up the broken pieces of glass. "Ouch!" she'd cut herself, there was no way that she could make it back to the bar now to get a plaster, what with the large crowd that had now gathered round it for last orders. "You'd best get that cleaned up." George looked at her hand, it was quite a deep cut. "Why don't you come back to the hotel with me?" Darcey hesitated for a few seconds what if John was there. She thought to herself, Darcey still loved him even though they'd split up almost 2 years ago. Don't be stupid she thought she had a perfectly good reason to be at the hotel.
"Yeah Ok sure, thanks George." She replied nervously. George helped her to her feet then took her by the hand to the waiting taxi outside in which Neil was sat waiting in.
"What took yer so long?" Neil yawned as George got into the taxi. " Sorry it was my fault." Darcey replied climbing in and sitting next to George. "DARCEY..... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE!" Neil was panic stricken
"Well It's nice to see you too Neil!" she sarcastically responded clutching her hand, as the cut had started to sting. The atmosphere in the taxi was tense so George broke the ice. "So Darcey what brings you to the big apple?"
"Phyllis's grandmother died and in her will she'd left Phyllis her house, so she asked me if I wanted to move to New York with her, and well here I am."
The taxi pulled to a slow stop and Neil quickly got out, Darcey brought back too many bad memories for him that he didn't want to be reminded of. He'd still always felt guilty about the break up of John's relationship with her. Neil wasted no time in hurrying up to his room and left George to pay the taxi fair.

Meanwhile Paul swiftly put Betty down on the sofa and removed her shoes for her and began to massage her tired feet.
She sighed and sunk her head back into one of the sofa cushions and closed her eyes. "Your one in a million Paul McCartney, what would I do without yer." She smiled up at him as he leaned over and kissed her.
"Bloody hell It's hot in this place" John loudly announced as he and Anna walked into the suite. He loosened his bow tie from around his neck and unbuttoned the top few buttons of his shirt. Anna flopped down into the nearest armchair she could walk to giggling; she'd had a bit too much to drink. "Got any ciggies Macca?" he walked over to the drinks cart and fixed himself a scotch and coke. "Yeah ere are" Paul tossed John his packet of cigarettes "Cheers, I'm going outside by the pool to get some fresh air if anyone wants me" he replied throwing the cigarette box back to Paul. "Yeah ok" Paul then carried on massaging Betty's feet. "Not without me yer not" Anna blurted out running over to the door and following John, once she'd caught up with him she grabbed hold of his hand almost pulling him over. "Woah steady on there baby, you almost had me over then" he laughed, he stopped laughing as she pressed herself against him and they shared a deep tender kiss. "Well I guess someone won't be getting much sleep tonight then" he smiled affectionately at her. The cool night air certainly wasn't helping Anna to sober up "Come on lets go for a swim." She whispered in his ear grabbing his shirt and starting to undo the rest of the buttons on it. "What" he laughed "Anna do you know how cold that water is, especially this time of night!" Anna just started giggling all over again he silenced her by slipping his tongue into her mouth, soliciting a moan off her as he kissed her passionately.
Anna started walking backwards as he moved down and began kissing her on her neck, she hadn't realised just how far away she really was from the pools edge that she fell backwards into the icy cold water taking John in with her. She let out a loud scream as she hit the water before going under it; she couldn't see a thing because of her long evening dress getting in the way. John was the first to come up to the surface his hair was plastered to his face. Laughing he moved his hair out of his eyes "Anna you little........" he started to laugh, but stopped when he realised that she hadn't surfaced yet panic stricken that she could be drowning he took a deep breath and went back under the water to find her.

CHAPTER 3

Betty and Paul remained huddled together on the sofa laughing and making out when George came in. " Would you two just get a room!" Paul stopped kissing her and stuck his tongue out at him "Only coz yer jealous." He was about to resume what he and Betty had started when out of the corner of his eye he saw Darcey. "DARCEY WHAT THE....." Paul rubbed his eyes "tell me I'm mot dreaming George?" he asked "No Paulie she's real". Paul didn't really know what to say except "Is Phyllis in New York with you?" he nervously asked. Darcey gave Betty a disapproving look "I see it didn't take you long to jump into someone else's bed then Paul!" she retorted coldly. The room went silent at her outburst.

Anna gasped as the cool air filled her lungs the cold water had certainly cleared her head, she was more sober now and realised the full effect of what had just happened, she could have drown. Luckily John had got to her in time; her dress had got caught up in one of the pool vents and kept pulling her down. She'd managed to hold her breath long enough for him to be able to untangle her dress from the vent. "Promise me you'll never go late night swimming again, you scared the hell outta me." John helped Anna swim over to the edge of the pool and got her out, he then picked her up in his arms, and she rested her head on his shoulder as he carried her inside.
"What the fu......." John couldn't believe his ex girlfriend was standing in the lounge of their hotel suite, he was so stunned that he almost dropped Anna on the floor. "Darcey what the hell are you doing here?" he was stunned to say the least. "I take it your not pleased to see me then honey?" Darcey walked over to him putting her arms around his neck and forced herself onto him. Paul, George and Betty all looked mortified while Anna looked confused, she didn't understand what was going on who the hell was this woman had John.... Was he..." she thought feeling more and more confused. " John Im going to our room." She softly spoke, her voice sounded as if she was going to crack up at any moment if she stayed in the room any longer. But it was too late tears had already started to run down her cheeks, embarrassed and upset she ran to hers and John's room and locked herself in their room's en suite bathroom and wept.

Darcey had forgot about the cut on her hand and blood dripped onto John's shirt. "What The......" he stepped back pushing her off making her fall back into George. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YER PLAYING AT!" he shouted, "INCASE YOU FAILED TO NOTICE, I HAVE A NEW BIRD. WHAT EVER WENT ON BETWEEN US IS OVER! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME OVER! NOW GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!"
Betty had never seen John this mad before, she clung to Paul tightly hiding her face in his chest. Paul reassuringly held her in the warmth of his strong embrace. It was the only place that she felt safe in right now.
"Take it easy will yer Johnny" George tried to bring calm to the situation. "TAKE IT EASY!......how the bloody hell do you expect me to take it easy when YOU bring the likes of HER back to the hotel with you!"
Darcey started to cry, "oh here we go crying to make people feel sorry for yer......... I WANT YOU OUT OF HERE BY THE MORNING!" with those last words John stormed out the lounge to his and Anna's room slamming the door behind him making the room shake.
Betty couldn't believe what had just happened; all she knew was that she'd had enough. Not only had Darcey upset her, she'd upset her best friends aswell and she wasn't going to sit around and take it any longer. "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, COMING IN HERE AND UPSETTING MY FRIENDS!" she roared removing herself from Paul's safe embrace. "I beg your pardon, why don't you mind your own business" Darcey retorted back. "Don't speak to me like that you little................."
Betty shot forward and smacked Darcey straight in the mouth.
"YOU BITCH!" she retorted back grabbing Betty by the hair then slapping her. Paul and George quickly stepped in to break it up. Paul grabbed Betty round the waist and pulled her down back onto the sofa with him. "I've not finished with her yet Paul!" she struggled to break free of Paul's soft but firm grip. "Leave it luv, I don't want you getting hurt." He said calming her down "Come on I think its time we went" Paul helped Betty up to her feet and walked her to their room leaving George and Darcey alone in the lounge. Darcey finally broke down and cried in his arms "What am I going to do George?" she wept.
