A Quick Explanation About the Beads and the Jewelry: Beads may be naturally-colored or permanently dyed to enhance color. My suppliers may also enhance semi-precious beads in a variey of ways including: Heating, Oiling/Resin Infusion, Lasering, Bleaching and Waxing/Oiling. If you have any questions or would like any information about any particular beads or piece of jewelry, please do not hesitate to e-mail me with your inquiries. An example of both natuarally-colored and dyed Rose Quartz is the "Pale Jenny" on Necklaces Page 2. "AB" refers to those crystals that have an aurora borealis sheen, reflecting light with irridescence. Freshwater Pearls: White, peach and mauve are all natural coloration. Other colors are produced by a Japanese-dyeing process to effect pastels and vibrant coloration. Hemalyke/Hematite: Some of my suppliers cannot guarantee "Hematite" since there seems to be many synthetic variations that are virtually indistinquishable from the naturally occurring stone, and so they offer the beads as "Hemalyke". All my descriptions of such beads are directly from my suppliers. Mountain Jade: This is a high-grade Dolomite Marble from Asia and dyed to vibrant colors. Malaysia Jade: A translucent quartz that is highly polished and dyed to rich coloration. A Note on Metals Used: I use mainly 14kt gold-filled and sterling silver findings, beads and adornments; with any other materials being so noted. Gold-filled is gold that has been 'worked' into a baser metal [usually brass]; it does not flake or wear and is well tolerated by many with allergies to other metals. I guarantee that should any gold-filled part not live up to these expectations, just return it for prompt replacement. All items can be 'up-graded' to either 14kt or 18kt Gold, with respective price adjustments for the higher cost of materials.Other styles and sizes of metal beads are available, including hand-made and vermeil [22kt gold heavily electroplated on sterling silver]. Just contact me for additional information. The gold inlays of most pendants with such are gold-plated. And any pewter used is, of course, lead-free Stringing Material: I use 'Accu-Flex' beading wire in everything unless otherwise noted. It is made of 7 strands of fine stainless steel wire that is very durable, flexible and resistant to kinking. [26 pound test strength]. Other materials are available if you prefer, including: Memory Wire, no-fray Elastic Cord [clear or colored] or Beading Cord - at no additional charge.Fine chains may be able to be used on some items instead, just contact me for further information, availability and pricing. |
