On Monday March 27, 95 the Wall Street Journal published an editorial asking Governor Weld to intervene on behalf of the Amiraults, who remain in prison in one of Massachusetts most outrageous criminal prosecutions.

The Wall Street Journal editorial also announced that a defense fund has been set up to help the Amirault family. Violet Amirault (age 72) and her son Gerald and her daughter Cheryl are serving long sentences in Massachusetts prisons. They were convicted during the height of the ritual abuse craze for heinous crimes against children. The sole evidence against them is accusations obtained by suggestive and coercive questioning of preschool children by hysterical parents and social workers. More information about this atrocious case is available from the Witch hunt information center homepage, which includes articles and documents from this case and similar cases.
