ARE  THE  CHURCH  BELLS  RINGING?

Splashes of color bursting forth in trees,

Walking my two beagles in the fresh air,

I thrill at purple flowers waving proudly

From the grass.  I hear it – delight in it,

The glorious sound of church bells ringing.

They seem to cry out - Come – Lets Celebrate!

We have so much to be thankful for – Come!

Unload your burdens, open your heart and mind

Join in the prayers, sing praises,  Stretch

Grow, delight in the love God has for you.

Feel peace as the bells flood your heart,

God didn’t make us to be beautifully crafted

Ships, to sit snuggled safe in a harbor.

Go deeper in the river, sail on His Word,

His promises.  He will live in all who ask.

In total surrender fill us oh Holy Spirit,

We would walk Your way Your will Your path.

Are the church bells ringing in your life?

Crying – Come – Celebrate – Come join me,

We have so much to be thankful for.

A special Christian friend of mine mentioned one time that being a Christian was like being on a ship not knowing where it was going or where it would land but knowing that God was in control and He  made ships to go to sea.  In her own words we were not to be “harbor snuggling ships safe but no growth or purpose and we are not to let those that do stop us from growing.”  Thank you Mary Lou for the vision for this poem which God put together.
